If you don't mind using the extra energy go ahead.. I've never used an led but I don't see why not. trying it is the only way to really learn. It's a good idea if you can fit it in there and it doesn't mess with your temperature to much imo.
Thanks mate for replying, if it was you how would you rig my lights? I was thinking led over the top of plants, than moving my plants away from the wall and having 1x250w cfl either side like where I have my 130watt one at the moment except the other side too, effective yah or nah

I've done it and yeah man it works. Right now tho, I use CFL only at the seedling stage and swap to a 150 HPS after a few nodes. Add LED later on in flowering. But I only grow 1 or 2 plants. You might also consider COB led. I have a hankering to try it myself but all in all what I got works great. Keep in mind CFL is almost as hot as HID. And u can get a 150 HPS for $65 shipped on eBay. A dimmable 400 for under $150. I'm not sure about the COB. Seems most build there own. Lots of choices. To be honest, CFL is at the bottom of my list but I know it works.

sounds good to me. I kept my CFL in the four corners down close to the plant. That's a lot of watts your pushing. Any heat issues?

I do Farenheight so 85 F about 29 C sounds like red line. I have reached peak temps at 90 without any significant problems but, would rather be below 80 or 27C.

Is this one anyhow vapid you possibly recommend a god con led??? Thanks http://ledgrowlightguide.com/galaxyhydro-cob-led-grow-light-review
I honestly like the idea of trying it out. The 200 Watt would probably be perfect for my 1 or 2 plant micro grow. I honestly have never used them but damn, growers seem to love them. Anyway, I would def go COB knowing what I know. I would try to find some reviews and pics if possible for that particular light and vendor. Make sure it's a legit vendor and not just some junk thrown together in China.

But, I got some regular old Blurple LED. The kind that give off a Purple/Magenta color. And they work fine.

They do fine. I actually have one the same people sold who became Mars. It's old and actually they are much cheaper now. It has 60 3 watt leds and works fine for a micro grow by itself. I think you can get the newer version like $70-$80 US. They put off very little heat and if that's a concern I could reco it as a good solution for a micro grow.
