i just priced out some 3 k from here just wondering if 525 bucks is to much for 12 of em 43 and change per

Make sure to learn to read the flux bin code from the manufacturing part number and datasheet so you know which one you're getting. Try to find the highest flux bin available for the color temperature you're looking for if you can. The datasheet will make it clear why.

As far a organic vs chem. If youare an expert and do chem right Im sure it is fine to smoke. But it is a lot easier and cheaper to do organic right because the plant and microherd is in charge for the most part. Imagine if I tried feeding you intravenously. Chances are your digestive system will do a better job than me at figuring out what nutrients you need and when.

I would take issue with this only on the fact that is is based on the assumption that plants have a stomach for digestion like people. Do plants not uptake what the soil biology has already converted to usable nutrient forms?

That aside, I am always open to following along any type of growing as I feel something can be learned from just about everything. I have been pondering running a few organic plants in my indoor garden but just cant get over the what, how much, and how soon will the nutrients be available train of thought.
I like the concept and use a more or less combination approach in my landscape but just haven't been able to "afford" any hit and miss on my indoor timing with lighting costs etc. being such a premium. I need to know what 4 weeks of growth is going to look like for sure

Besides the frequent side tracks and off topics comments I can say that I have received a lot of help and that I've learnt a lot from the members here willing to share their tips and advice.

One thing I've come to know is that it's def not recommended to buy LED from these commercial co's or if you do make sure they not full of bullshit. So far I'm contemplating either going with Optic or doing a DIY, but I still got a lot of studying and work to do before that happens lol

I looked into it after a seizure, and it seemed there was a lack of info on the subject. One possibility was an increase in seizures which i didnt want to risk. Untill there is proof i probably wont try it as a medication. One seizure was enough for me.
Until someone experiences a seizure they wont know what kind of helplessness it instills. It isn't pleasant and makes you feel as though you have no control over you body. I still dont know why i had it or if i will have another, but i dont want to repeat it.

Hopefully with relaxed regulations these uses can be studied more with real tests and results, rather than hearsay and random unique undocumented cases.

Cobs are fairly simple to work with. I have never built a high wattage led panel but once you understand the basics they are all basically the same. It really comes down to heat sink, and led driver selection. Heatsink selection was the most difficult for me. For a fraction of the cost of a commercial unit you could build yourself a killer unit. Good luck with your project.

If you want to learn more maybe post in one of the older established DIY threads,lots of people will answer any questions you have. Looks like Area 51's COB light has been pushed back to July but it may be worth the wait if you decide not to DIY.
