Flushing House and Garden Newts?

Ok, I'm going crazy reading everyone's techniques all over the internet. I see on the feed chart that I only need to flush the last 3 days. I have four very specific questions.

1, Can I use tap water with Clearex?

2, Do I need to use Clearex since H&G includes Drip Clean in the schedule?

3, Should I use Drip Clean if growing in soil?

4, is 3 days too close to harvest for the flush to work (The H&G recommends flushing the last three days before harvest)?

P.S. Side note, when a strain has an 8 week flowering time, is that chop right when 8 weeks hits, or chop at the end of week 8, beginning of week 9?

Thanks to anyone who gives input, particularly interested in growers who have use H&G news before, but would love advice from anyone.

So your P.S. question is the most important question on the table here. Your plants are done when their done(ripe). An 8 week labeled strain usually takes me 63 days and have gone more for full ripeness on some 8 week labeled strains. There are a few factors in telling when your flower is done.
Now the flushing thing i don't really want to talk about, Its something you as a grower will have to experience on your own. Many different theories on this site about that subject. I don't even know what you mean by flushing. Do you mean a real definition of a proper flush when one encounters problems during a grow? Or do you mean during the few days before harvest your going to water with ph clear water a few times using your normal water amount?

Just because it is an 8 week strain doesn't mean you chop at 8. You chop when the trichomes are mostly turned from clear to milky.

1) No idea
2) if your using drip clean I dont see the need.
3) Yes

Morongofrofg, first thanks for the response, second I meant pre-harvest flush, and how long before chop should I flush when using Clearex. The H&G schedule says it only needs to be flushed 3 days before flush.

I was going off the schedule because I wanted to time the flushing right, especially if I decide to do a 10 day flush. Thanks for the response.

I dont flush. When my flowers are done in my view i give my self 2 ph clear waterings with 2 days in between using the same amount of water i usually use. Then i chop. And i would never buy a product like clearex or whatever to do that. I don't think Drip has anything to do with clear watering. you'd just be wasting it. After a few runs your going to through that chart in the trash. Atleast thats what i did years ago.

I dont flush either, but just for clarification OP drip clean is used to clean up things such as salt buildup. I also disagree about throwing the chart out. This is the one nutrient ive found that it is best to follow the chart. Works very well with myself and a few of my friends, each on different strains.

Thanks jkwrestling, so you use H&G and do absolutely no flush? You stop giving them newts two weeks before harvest?

I Must agree on keeping the h&g chart, its been great so far , I have only used it for this grow and I just so far think I will be flushing for about 5 days *extra 2 days to be on the safe side* let me know what works tho asss i am still a while off flushing I haven't put too much thought into it

Flushing is a myth!
You flush toilets not plants.
Proper cure, proper cure, proper cure!

I tested H&G.....did not like it.....To many parts and costs too much for them. Constantly having to change/adjust formulation. What do you do with anything left over at the increase of the next nutrient? Stupid way to use nutrients AND they even TELL you to water to a flow though = waste even more hard earned money ....Drip clean makes soil a brick...

There are better things out there, that work better for cheaper and are easier to use

Just got off the phone with the H&G guys, they said the 3 day flush is only for European water and that they recommend a 7 day flush.

The question of whether flushing works is debatable and I personally believe flushing is the way to go.

How many of their products are you using?

Yes the entire lineup and protek with every water by I do not add protek when I add newts because I use the amino additives. I use all of the H&G lineup
