The talk at work was about Caitlyn winning the Aurthur Ashe Courage at the Espy's. If you could have been there, people were talking about the attention whoring and you would have thought someone called their mamma's a skank bitch. For some, they could admit he was a reality TV star because he's an attention whore, but now that he's a she and going to be a reality TV, she's doing it for a different reason. I found that odd.

IMO, it took courage to do what he did, but Ashe is a true hero that showed true courage and the calculated choreographed to maximize profit and exposure way used by Jenner flies in the face of that award.

Legitimate or not, I'm disappointed in BJ for claiming not to want to "drag his family into this" then talking at length with Diane Sawyer and doing countless interviews and magazine spreads. I'm also sad for the family members he hurt while trying to closet his true self. That's done more damage than him living as a woman. Sure, go have the sex change. But can you have a shred of privacy for your own life and your family's? I also think the press hounding him as he wet into the hospital is disgusting. Leave him alone. The suicide rate for post-op transexuals is 20 times average. I don't think changing gender is the cure all some people think it is.

I have read similar studies on this. Not only the suicide rate, but the post surgery TG's that were interviewed years later. There seems to also be much regret, when they realized that despite changing gender, most of their problems didn't go away. That said, I really don't think it's anyone's business what's behind someones zipper.

Some were fine with it initially but others weren't and had to work through it. I meant, keep your family business private. YOu don't need to tell the world which kid had a hard time with it, or how it went down when your daughter walked in on you in her dress. You can insert any subject here: tax evasion, child molestation, WHATEVER, just respect your family's privacy. He could have just discussed how his life was impacted. Yes acknowledge your family may or may not have had a hard time with it, but leave it at that. He seems quite happy to talk about himself anyway.
