Well , why do you love it. Health care has been around a long time so what is it that you love so much about Obamacare?
What I like about health care now after BarryO put his name on it is, "they can't dump me" I have been dumped by Ins. companies before and it sucks.
I am type 1 diabetic and before Obamacare my options were pretty shitty concerning insurance..
1. Denied
2. Accepted at a higher than normal rate but not covering any pre-existing illnesses (diabetes affects everything).
3. Premiums so ridiculously high that there was no way I could afford it.
4. Minimum visits and pay cash.
I was number 4 my entire adult life until Obamacare.
Now I pay 400 a month for insurance that basically covers everything I need. I have had 3 surgeries and regular doctor visits since Obamacare has been available.

$400 covers everything? Insulin, syringes, test strips, the monitor, everything? No deductible, no copay?
yup! i said i'd go a 3rd..but everybody laughed at me.Time to change the 22nd amendment. Obama needs another term.
see? that wasn't really so scary after all? no death panels. no concentration camps. no feeling like watermelon for desert. no 10" tucked in your boot.

I am getting ready for my second surgery in less than a year. In july I am having a shoulder replacement so I have been using my insurance after all these years of paying.
Last september I had knee surgery and then my rate went up nearly twenty percent and I had to down grade my coverage a couple rungs. So now my deductible went from 750 to 2500 which is all right for now. But if it goes up another 20% I will be down to a bronze policy for next year. But at least they can't dump me.
i can't have insurance this year because i can't afford a co-pay.
i'm in fine health and just require maintenance meds. no preventative ends up costing taxpayers. dick rotts, dick will rott

What I don't understand is why the deductible goes up for the cheaper polices that struggling families are having to purchase. They don't have the money for the deductibles and our politicians know they don't have the money so it makes it look like a pyramid scam to me.
If they really wanted to help poor people get Ins they would of noticed the higher deductibles were out of reach for most people that are just getting by. I have to pay my deductible up front before my surgery, so how are they going to get health care if they don't have the deductible?

i'm gonna say that's your hospital deductible..and yeah, they want it up front.
6 of one, half dozen of other..low deductible/high premium..high deductible/low premium.
the thought process behind is those that go with high deductible /ow premium are the healthy (supposedly)..you can still get meds and well care visits with a co-pay that is affordable..so it eases up on cash flow..why would you spend money on high premium if you don't have health issues?
i only used my ACA last year for one doctor visit to renew meds..as you know i had gold plan for free with subs..i paid my co-pays for visit and meds according to plan.
then, the same policy for me was increased from $0 premium to $33 (ESTIMATE) when i got the invoice it had miraculously gone to $78/month! (with subs).
i had one doc visit and meds the previous year only.
so let's do the math..that same doc i went to charges $65 for cash/non insured patients. i can go to cvs with some rinky discount card and pay $29 for 7 lexapro 20/mg..which can be divided and done every other day if necessary..much better than not taking;then taking full dose i've found.
even if i downgraded to bronze which was what i was going to do..still a $40 monthly premium..for what?

if you have medical issues, ACA = awesome!!! be very thankful that the president did this for you..or you'd be shopping for another company trying to get your surgery approved.

I was already saved before Obama care, it was called the OMIP and it was no per existing conditions and they couldn't dump me anymore. And the deductible was 1500 instead of where I am at now @ 2500. just so you know.
And the good thing about it was the price was locked in with no increases in five years that I had it. And now I have no idea what I am going to pay from year to year. All I can do is keep down grading until I hit the bottom. Thanks BarryO.
what was the monthly premium? TOOP? you need to provide all portions for analysis. 1500 v 2500 mean nothing other than they are deductibles.

580 per month is what the OMIP was and that was blue cross. I saved money for one year that is a fact and then poof savings gone. So I down graded. Thanks BarryO.
