You're absolutely right! Always stake and tie! Then all your plant's energy goes to bud set.

Your plants are only as good as the root system holding it / supporting it. they work hand in hand .
More roots - better support more nutrient uptake bigger yields , there is no substitute staking netting only helps keep buds in place this does not mean its going to yield better
having a healthy plant capable of supporting the yield is whats KEY

my thoughts...I've seen plants/buds so huge that they would not survive in nature, as the branch would snap
this is one of our advantage in the indoor world, we can cheat mother nature and have a piece of string/wire/net to brace the branch so the buds can grow outrageously large.
so yeah, give them some support/brace, which they will utilize to expand their reach

Breeds like Big Bud will never support their oversized buds without assistance. Bambo stakes are cheap.

That full oz of bud I harvested after ten weeks of blood sweat and tears never drooped once LOL... I'm finally getting things right. Right now I have a Big Bud x NL, A Super Skunk, A Critical Jack, and a Bubba 76 going.. They're just babies, but I'm hoping that I'll need to go get some stakes.

I grew big bud for years and years back in the days. I've grown many, many different phenos of it also. Support is a must, they even tell you that when purchasing seeds. Totally true.
The buds aren't really that huge. The stems are fucking pinner though, compared to the size of the buds, correct.
Why would anyone grow bigbud in this day and age though? Just curious

I believe you get more yield by staking, seperating branches and putting them where you want them to be. Also strain depent too. I have an og that if you don't stake her she's so viny and stretchy shell be on the floor week 4. I do like stake cages. If you don't know what i mean I can show you a little pic. allows me too deal with every single plant individually. And actually every single branch.

Definitely.. Lets see a pic. I can't imagine it.
I have seen little scrog-type trellises that steak into the pot. Sort of like a tomato cage, but with some trellis. I like this idea because it still allows a person to move their plants around, but also manage the branches.

I switched over about 5-6 months ago bro.
Instead of a single 1000w'er over a 4x4. It's 2-1000w(1150w) DE's over 3-4x4's now
I keep saying i'm yielding the same per 4x4, but with 1/3 less lamps. but I sware to god, it's only getting better dude. DE's are for real bro.
I wanna convert what regular hps's I still have over to DE's but with Ac/De hoods though. So i can run em air cooled. I have tall ceilings in those pictures(big garage), but i have some regular bedrooms that need switched up soon.
