I need a little help

Here is my garden. Everything is fine except the acorn squash, cucumber, and zucchini which are all wilted and getting discoloration in the leaves. I planted them about a week ago as store bought plants in miracle grow fruit and vegetable soil with lots of added perlite. It is in the 90's right now but i thought these plants can handle higher temperatures. The soil is not dry at all and they looked fine yesterday when it was a little cooler. I guess my question is whether i should provide shade or the issue lies elsewhere?

Everything else is doing great except the peppers which are planted in a FFOF/Happy frog mix with added bone meal for calcium. Last year all of our pepper plants had issues with the leaves growing out deformed so i did my research and everything came back saying lack of calcium is always why pepper leaves dont fully form so i added calcium to the soil this year and the new leaves are now coming out all deformed. Can anyone give a little insight to what i might be doing wrong?

Apparently squash plants will lose moisture in the leaves faster than the roots can take it up during hot sunny days but they will recover with no problems later on when the sun starts to go down and its nothing to worry about. Should i still provide some sort of shading during these really hot days?

not to be rude man but fox farm is poo poo poo lol amend your own soil peppers like a chuncky style of soil clay and stuff helps em out

Not rude at all.. just can you elaborate a little? Like why is fox farm poo poo poo when everybody uses it.. shit works great for my bud plants. What kind of soil would you recommend?

Your squash,cucumber & leafy veggies like cabbage,broc,cauliflower & Brussels sprouts all wilt during the day during hot weather as they are cooler temp veggies but are fine as long as they perk back up in the evening. If you place newspaper around your plant & mulch around the base of your plants then add straw or some other ground cover over the paper it will help to keep your plants moist during hot days.

I figured out the squash and cucumbers do that cause the roots can't bring water to the leaves as fast as it is evaporating and found out its not harming them. I'm mainly concerned about the peppers and how I can get healthy pepper plants.

in the line of work i do fox farm is like a home brand of soil packed full of nastys its like training wells for little kids or for people that have really no idea on how to grow good soils are like bvb or canna terra nicks mix or real growers make there own soils then u have hydro growers which controll there own nutes in my books if u use ff u aint a very good grower cause a toddler can grow in it and all they have to do is add water and every herb i have tasted from ff always tastes a bit weird to me

i wouldent use it for chillies i grow chillis and make my own fermented chillie sauce like tabasco i always amend a clay soil and break it down with some dollamite lime blood and bone some chicken and horse poo and a good sugar cane mulch and just plain water like cannabis for the first 2 weeks then a nice fert like a kelp will do them just fine

Mine looked the same. Planted on memorial day, and the following week was 90 degrees. My guess was the poor plants weren't established enough for that kind of heat. They are doing fine now due to seasonable temps and some rain.
If your garden is anything like mine, those plants are probably getting far more sun than they were in the store... My advise is relax and give em a few weeks to settle in.

Where are you located? I'm in socal and bought them a week before memorial day. And yea it was in the mid 90s when I first put em out where they were originally in a garden center with lots of shade and other plants. I hope that's what it is but it hasn't seemed settle in its home yet, I'll just give it a couple more weeks I guess. Thanks man!

Yea I can see that, it is very easy to grow in ffof.. I would make my own soil and go all organic but I'm not in my own home so I can't really go much further than small scale grows so I haven't done much else yet. I have read a lot on composting and making teas so I'm prepared once I do have room!

u can buy bags of nice soils and mix it in or out the back on a bag

I would make my own soil and go all organic but I'm not in my own home so I can't really go much further than small scale grows so I haven't done much else yet. Just because it is a great soil and has everything you need in it apparently you are not a "real" grower if you use it. In my book if you get 5+ pounds a plant, it don't matter what the medium is. It saves a ton of time not having to mix/cook soil up and time is money in large gardens. I use my leftover ocean and happy for my veggies, shit work great.

You have no clue. Why would ocean make it taste bad? By the time your done flowering all the stuff in the ocean is gone. Taste is awesome, botanicare is known to make great tasting product.

Funny it would take 4 or 5 of your plants to equal one of mine or one of my friends. But we aren't real growers because we use ocean. Any time you want to compare let me know "real grower"
