To flower or not to flower...

Hi

Sooo , I got this clone about 3 weeks ago. It had traveled a long road to get to me , had very little roots and was in shock. The clone was already flowering by the time I got it , so I decided to put it back into veg on 24/0 to try and stabilize the plant and gain some root growth etc.

2 and a half weeks later and the pictures are of how the plant currently looks. Still not as healthy as I would like it to be , with some spots on the bottom leaves. Does anyone know what that could be ?

And would you say I could put it back into flowering now ? ,or should I let it settle back into veg for longer?

Put it down its a mess...although a great plaything for you,....you now could be germing a whole crop of fine plants out in ideal weather than messing with this mess

Haha. I've seen many ppl re-veging cloning from already flowering plants. I've heard they become monster bushy. I wouldn't kill that plant its already quite big. I would veg it for another month at least and top it a few times. Tho you should consider fix you light issues as the plant is stretching towards the side bulb. In the state your plant is at the moment I would top it so i let the side branches grow and let it recover for a good while before i top again ^^

It will make a huge comeback and you'll have a monster bush as SweetHayz said. I take clones from flowering plants all the time and I love how crazy bushy they get. Ignore the useless negative comments... you'll get a lot of those assholes here. That bottom leaf just looks damaged from fert splash, dirt, impact damage from bumping it around... I dont see signs of a problem with the whole plant.

Also as Sweet said.... get more lights before you spend money on seeds. Instead of CFLs... the linear (long) fluoro tubes are more efficient, run cooler and get more lumens per watt. One T5 shoplight would be enough for you to start and finish one plant or two plants no problem (not best but decent yield). T5s are expensive compared to other flouros... T8s get almost (but not quite) the same lumens per watt as a T5, however, T8s are HELLA cheap (4 bulb 4' shoplight at walmart for 12.00 bucks... 15.00 if you want the shiny reflector instead of white....add high output tubes and you're good to go for under 40.00 bucks total.) Just my two cents .. but seriously... dont spend money on good genetics until you have better lights.

Thank you so much , after so many shitty negative replies I enjoyed reading yours. Also thought there is enough potential there to not just give up on the plant.

Just looked at the T5's , looks like it could be a nice addition , I should build a proper box for my next grow.I have slowly been adding more n more lights to the setup in the past few weeks. The big 85w cfl at the top have given me some good success in the past. Looking to add another 80w before flowering. Im based in Africa , so my options are limited bongsmilie

Thank you for the response. Yes the side lighting , I agree , lol it's sooooo ghetto. Gonna have to adjust it a bit higher up. Thanks for the advice, also thought some extended time in veg should be better for the plant in the long run.

CFL would do the job for veging but I highly recommend you find proper lights for flowering. I flowered my first grow under 4 65w cfl and I end up with about 10-15g on my plant. If u cant find proper light go to electronic store and buy a few led chipsets and build your own light as it will give you much better results in flowering. :)

P.S. If you intend to build your own led light for flowering add about ~70% of red spectrum ~20% of blue spectrum and ~10% of white spectrum. Make sure your light hit over 150w for good results. :)

We all started out that way... adding more lights as we go. I think i was on my third grow before I had anything proper. If you were to add even on 70wattt HPS it would increase your yield and density a lot. You should be able to find one of those at a building supply/hardware store in the security light section. For the money though, T5s are probably best to start with .

Africa? Holy shit, I wanna visit! Maybe we can trade for a week? I'm in Florida.. near the beach... LOL... wanna trade white sand and drunken rednecks for.... well... whatever Africa's got for me?

I want to build my own led but I'm clueless about it at this point and haven't done the research yet. Assuming heat was not an issue... would you chose an LED over an HPS? Have you grown with both enough to testify (lol) to the results?

you don't need to grow with LED (diy cob lamps) to know it'll be better than HID

I grow LED. Never been growing HPS as LED give the exact spectrum needed for flower, giving better results in yield per watt.
Also lights are cooler and never have issues with heat stress and ventilating the hot air out. I grow under 600w per plant in flower.
With a lot of training and 2-3 months veg i make about ~15-20 ounce per plant.


This is two plants and a small cloning on the background. The two plants have just closed 2nd month from planting the seed, therefore they have been into veg for about a month, month and a half under 1x 600w led full spectrum.

I dont doubt LED... however, Yes, yes I would need to grow with LED to know it's better than HID... and specifically HPS. I think they're pretty cool, figuratively and literally. to be honest i hate viewing pics with only leds on though.. =) They look pretty amazing for veg but then so are T5s which are less expensive. Mostly I'm hatin on LEDs because I can't afford one yet and I'm not convinced (yet) that they can, in fact (not theory) give better results in yield per watt.

Your plants look super healthy Sweethayz, that's some pretty good yield too. I'm definitely going to do more research. :bigjoint:

I use 100watt high quality led over each vegged 40days average 3-4ft and 3 to 4 oz each one! The quality of the bud is what puts LED over HPS to me! The buds ooze resin! and the smell! oh ya!
