thinking of moving em outdoors

Temps getting harder to manage inside. I'd like to move my flowering (bout 2 weeks in) plants outside. Only problem is my entire garden is shaded by the canopy of grape vines (imagine a very tall scrog). Could I still flower in these conditions?

EDIT: btw, it probably helps that they've been veg'd outside as well

ohhh good question . i am saying yes you "can" but blocked sun by leaves emittes far red and causes stretch BAD!
also the lenghting days can cause revgging as well. risky . full sun after hardening them off is better IMO

I guess I forgot to mention one thing... I'm gonna be moving them/covering them everyday and when I'm not here I can have someone else do it for me. So it's cool when it comes to that. I didn't know about the far red thing. thanks for the advice!

long as they get total dark your fine ... guess flowering under a canopy can increase resin... might be worth a go if just for head stash..

great input. What if I put em out midway through flowering/after the stretch?
i dont know . i did that in years past in full sun with GREAT results . might be better under shadeish as my container heating up was a problem . got a light meter or a fancy camera?? not sure but your "shade spot might get more lumens than your fake sun (grow light)

alright, man. thanks!! some reassurance is what I needed. I found that shaded sun is better than my low powered HID so I might opt for that. Temps are still under control so we'll see. Again thanks a lot

it's always my dilemma, to decide if the plants are better off in the limited sun or under artificial lights

my plants do not get that much direct sunshine, maybe 5 to 6 hours in the peak of summer...and much less as time goes on

IMHO, artificial lights work great in veg mode, but in flowering mode the sun rules

they will grow without direct sunshine, as long as they get some limited sunshine, so I'm sure your gals will do just fine

I got this app on my phone that measures kLUX. It's highly inaccurate but the measurements outside under the canopy and under the canopy + green plastic screen were consistently higher than a metal halide bulb at roughly 5-6 inches distance. Stuff might evolve within the next couple of months but until then them babes are going outside

that's kind of cool...doesn't really matter about the accuracy, it's just a guide as to which is more or less

what app was that....is it iPhone or android?

Nothing is better then the sun...everything (lighting) is an imitation not duplication...some parts of the world can't grow outdoors...so lights can be used...but "preferred' NOT BY ME.lights allow one to grow year around....my outdoor outshines my indoor Every Way every grow..and I GROW..size, potency, less work, ALL favor the sun grown plant.a plants genetics aren't enhanced by light (characteristics can be manipulated by environmental conditions)..why do you think lights that are the most similar to sunlight work best?...that's why we prefer to flower under HPS and not T8's....INDOOR is only more expensive due to the cost to grow it...but to each is own....I do both and have for 10 years now..legally.

Can't do this inside..lol...
