See I didn't know how long to leave it in humidity dome. I made my own himidity some because I didn't need a big tray. So I took to good size bowl tray (clear ) and made a dome out of it for anywhere between 1 to 4 clones. I'm only trying to do one though. Would you suggest full seal or small air vent? All you need to clone is your preferred medium (i use peat based seed starter and perlite) and a humidity dome (seed starter domes with the trays from walmart and family dollar for 5-8 bucks). Cut with clean sharp scissors at an angle (so the stem has a point) and put them in the medium/soil ... water, put the dome on and leave them alone! I usually dont have to water them often at all and when I do, I water the bottom tray so the roots are encouraged to grow down to get it. I have about 85-90% success (failures are always due to me 'checking' them too often and/or the cutting was too small). In veg stage they take about 10 days to root, in flower they take longer, I have one now on day 17 and the roots are just getting big enough to transplant.
Its really not that complicated and you'll get the hang of it quick. There are tons of methods... some just stick them in water with an airstone. Main thing to know is... leave them alone once they are set.
I think I'm also going to try a lighter medium like yours. I am using the same potting mix I use for my plants, which is the same I use thru hole schedule because I'm on budget and I figure after multiple water will flush harsh mutes for budding stage. Which two are going throw now and seem to be doing great in the soil.
Thank you so much for your response. Cloning has been made complicated to me because people never talk about what you after you close the lid on the dome. I didn't know to leave them alone. In fact I took bad advice from a you tuber who said to essentially burp the cloning dome with fresh air once a day or two. The potential clone seems mostly healthy for now but I doubt it will flourish I think I messed it up but I will leave it be for a few days, if it dies completely then yeah I will start over. Right now it's only some of the leaves thy have wilted but the point where new verticality grows is healthy green. So fingers crossed.. I wonder if the honey really helps. Kind of makes sense honey is sugar plants like sugar. Seeing how you damage a branch and it needs to heal it would new high sugar content. Idk lol just blowing smile out my bum lol . Thanks again.
