It's a wayyy better offer. Typical efficiency is 28% @9.6W @25°C. Still pretty expensive.
Still expensive, but easy to build yourselves. How did you calculate 28%, they state 36% in the datasheet.

-edit: ooops..36% is the Osram. 28% is the LZR from Ledengin.

The reason behind some calculatioins is often not my strongest point....but I will remember it. Thanks for explaining it to me.

Edited my former post: the 36% is the Osram I was referring to, you were referring to the ledengin.

We should make a club " The CXA DIYers aka Blamers of SupraSPL ....
LOL!

Nice work Supra ,with the heatsinks ....
I trust much in 'heatsink pro-preparation' ,myself also ...
I go up to 2500 ( Maybe the EU 2500 is the US 1000 ? I think something like that ..
'Cause with EU 80 grit...
You can cut down a tree ,not just sand aluminium !!!-In a matter of speaking ....
I think US 80 is something like ~200 EU grit ...)
I blame you for being so Top DIY. inspiring!
I blame @churchhaze for being so right all the time
I blame @SupraSPL for bringing it and laying it out
I must mention blame for @bicit, for showing me that all of you, are not jerks
And I give a special blame to @medicinehuman for showing me I am sometimes. (drat!!)
And BIG blame goes to @alesh for keeping me real
I want to blame all my fans on RIU for not Ignoring me completely, and immediately
Of course, mainly I Blame my Mom, for making all this possible

Thank you, thank you, thank you all. And please catch my next build, soon to be a major motion picture (if I ever finish this one...) Good Night! And may GAWD bless!

Your math is way off on the coverage,it takes a small fraction of a watt to cover a sq/ft with 730 nm, 16'x16'= over 28 sq yards. A little goes a long way,my DIY ones are 6 watts and will cover a 5x5 tent easily. And efficiency isn't really a issue since you use it for 5 to 10 minutes once a day, others have reported excessive stretch if used during lights on,I just use it for the phytochrome switch.

WTF I see it now...Misinterpreted the ' and the "... inch/foot.. well that clarifies it...

Ooh... I tought ' is the "foot" and " is the "inch"...
So 6w 730nm for 150cm x 150 cm tent...

RIU should come up with some vBulletin script, that offers you switch - from imperial/metric, haha...

So, i will buy that cheap chinese e-bay 730nm, and see how it works out...

Look at all of that flower! Extraordinary Cap'n!

How does it smell?
Sad thing is I have a lousy nose and I'm around her so much it's tough for me to really appreciate her. I'm hoping to get my hands on a GG#5 clone in the near future,#5 is going to be tightly held and not freely passed as the #4 was. There will be a chance for people to get some dynamite genetics at C2 in June here in Michigan.
