RIU Summer Fishing Trips

Yeah jj, summertime is striper and halibut.
Remember when planning the trip though: weak tides are going to be better for the halibut, and the bigger tides will be better for the striper/sharks.
Killer deal is a potluck trip during the summer. Rock fishing out the gate, and then drifting for the halibut inside the gate:-)
God dam, I'm getting a hard on

yep, that just about did it.:hump:

Hogan lake has land locked stripers as well. You can just about always pull them out!

A lot of our lakes down here have strippers , Big corn feed trout ones too. I just have never went to one of the lakes that have them. Don't know why ?

I can take you sturgeon and striper fishing at the same time! you have a 2 pole license? set them up the same pretty much, just have to use a barbless hook for the sturgeon.

Sounds like you are in my old stomping grounds dude.
Cache slough down to suisun. ;-)
I got some money holes bro. You got decent electronics? They'll be so stacked up from chain island through the power lines this summer because of the brackish, watch:-)

Dam, I wish I would have snapped some pics for you guys of the trout we're catching out of collins lake. It's not too incredibly far from where you do the bbq's.
1-3 pounders. Crazy

That lake he mentioned(Hogan Lake) has a pretty cool disc golf course there also.
The stripers use to boil big time/ all over in that lake. Those days are long gone i think. Just like in the delta nowadays. Just not as much shad in there anymore. It sucks:-(

I have'nt even fished for them since the new regs:-(

Cool you guys planning a trip ?? had many of them Fly ins Northern Canada funny i found this thread i was actually going through my gear oiling reel the usual lol
Have friends in Alaska where we do some Halibut fishing once a year ,,, That just reminded me of a big one we caught gaft that fucker almost destroyed the boat .when we landed it i was like shoot the fucking thing
.and its 40 foot boat lol big time damage guys ..
Now anything over 80 pounds halibut he refuses to land his boat his laws :)
As for me done my fair share of fishing mostly land lock these days. but still pretty dangerous your water is so cold that if a person was to fall into it with out life suit , he be dead in 7 minutes ,Within 2 minutes your legs would curl up automatically ,
The lake is so big that once your out there its like being in the middle of the ocean no land in any direction ,, also
there is lots of islands if your fishing i guess close to land So
you need a scout cause you can get lost pretty easy ,, waves 6 - 12 feet out on this lake but its a party once a year 5 - 6 of us no women booze sitting by the fires watching the sun set smoking the Ganja

My buddies have tried getting me to go on one commercial fishing run . but fuck that could never get me on the Bering sea in winter .. I personally think that is a death wish cold wet and up 23 hrs a day hahaha

PS 55 pound laker catch n release

I haven't, but thanks for the tip. I usually fish Whiskeytown lazily on a boat or a few bass ponds I know... nothing adventurous (yet).
I still want to take a guided fishing trip on the Sac, just haven't done it.

Yeah you know, that spot is about 1hr 20 minutes from my house. It's hard to leave the outdoor and go that far to fish, but i still did manage a couple times a week.
Now that i can't blow shit up here in butte co, or Yuba this year, fuck it, i'm gonna be out there
Way more often, if my back will allow:-( I love it up there. Love kicking it on whiskeytown too:-)
