Paranoid buying online?

Hi all this is my first post on here after being a member for over a year.

SWIM is interested in buying a grow tent off a website such as eBay or Amazon and wants to know: is it safe? if it is bought with a prepaid debit card and delivered to a house where the grow isn't taking place, could anything happen? thanks in advance

Okay. Well I'm planning on doing 3 or 4 plants in a grow tent in a closet using bubbleponics but I just want to know if anybody has ordered online and then got caught solely because of buying online? I've thought everything through and will get everything today as it is going to be my first grow, I just need to know what the risks are of buying equipment online.

Hey your thinking too hard. Go to your local grow store and get one. Saves on shipping and you can get it now. Not having to wait. Support local shops is better than buying offline. Plus they usually price match. If you buy online your risking getting things broken or missing or not correct. If so you'll have to send it back and wait even longer.

I live in a non med state. I had to order everything or build it. Start thinking about odor control. I originally bought a ventech fan and filter. I ditched the filter and bought a phresh filter. I will tell you from first hand experience that amazon ships discreetly.

I was telling you to chill because I'm serious if your tripping on getting g caught ordering, you will be a nervous wreck when them things flower.

Just don't leave boxes and bags and stuff laying around. Keep a neat clean place. Shred boxes and bags. That way if someone looks through your trash they won't see anything. Just pay attention and be careful and you will be alright.


Number one rule. Tell NO one. That's how people get busted.

just be careful brother don't tell people you grow

set up the tent discreetly make sure no one can see you from a window etc but yeah like others said if you're gonna be growing you gotta check the paranoia so it doesn't end up affecting your grow later like rushing it chopping early etc with a carbon filter discretion etc you should be good
thats my 2 cents but I've been growing over plant limit in a medical state for years now so I got past the what if stage in my head now I try to just focus on quality genetics and not making stupid mistakes like I've done in the early days experience helps a lot honestly well have a good day ✌

Look on Craig's list for tents, have a trusted friend take you to the places, at least if you know if they error a plate down, tell drive to your friends house with no plants at his crib.

I got my first tent mh and fans from a local grower on Craigslist

made sure he knew my name but not address where I'm gonna grow, what city in from, where I grew up etc sounds extreme but close buddies of mine are doing years for couple rooms they got busted for because they talked too much I keep to myself and talk to people more on here seems like that way nothing leads back to home and my grow cheers and happy growing ✌

so you guys think if I order something as big as a grow tent from amazon I shouldn't have any problem?

It will come disassembled. It will be in a smaller box. Amazon puts the manufacturer box inside of one of their boxes. It will be unlabeled nobody will know what it is. Also when you order just contact the seller to make sure they ship discrete.

I order all my major parts online, 99% of the time from amazon. minus my hoods (mine are HUGE) and nutes. I am also in a med state tho. every item ive ever ordered has always been shipped discretely in amazon boxes. sorry local grow stores, your inflated prices on some items just cant be touched by buying online.

That is only the case if amazon is the one facilitating the order. It will tell you on the page if it is or not.

always a good idea not to get anything related to growing sent to your grow location. in my opinion. I live in a med state and comply with all state laws, but still have things sent to a different location, especially seeds. I don't think I'd be worried about a tent too much.. that could be used for many other things besides growing. I'm all about supporting local shops, but sometimes you're strapped and buying online can save you bunches.

And why would you get busted for a tent? I have a neighbor who grows strawberries in an indoor grow tent... A tent is not illegal, you'll be fine. Buy from who you like and keep what you're doing to yourself.
