Has anyone used jacks classic I was thinking of trying that as a cheap alternative.
I've heard nothing but good things about Jacks 20-20-20.
I'm using Dyna gro which is going great, but I do want to try Jacks next. Trouble is you can't get it in the UK or ireland eadily so postage costs more from the US than the product itself!

i am just a personal use grower, and i like cheap.

for the last couple of harvest ive been using my own base from my animals poop ( worm castings, rabbit crap and well composted sheep turds). i do use fox farms but lite. and i brew teas too...cheap and ez

dwc grows with AD nutes have been my bigger and faster yeilds.

no way does my home grown compare with that top shelf yall legal boys put out. but i am working to catch on

Yeah I'm a cheap bastard.:bigjoint: Plus I tried 2 hydro lines then Jacks Classic really no noticeable difference in quality or yield just so much easier I throw some in a 6 gallon water jug shake it up and water had to do the 6 gallon jug going back and forth with the 2 gallon plant water jug takes forever. And yeah I'll spend around $40 and the nutes last damn near a year I pay more in Pro-Mix. :bigjoint:

I bought grow, bloom, mag pro kln (rooting stuff) and protect for under 50 quid. I should have bought FP, but it's no great loss. I found I needed to switch back to Grow during flower as the Bloom didn't keep em green. I may 50/50 it this time or even use Grow right through.

It's pretty fool proof using thier schedule but I'd still go a step simpler and use FI or Grow throughout.

Educate me, what does 'precipitate out' mean? As in deposited salts in the bottom of the bottle?

Sorry bad chemistry joke blame chem cat.

In other words the minerals have come out of solution and crystallized, (Rock candy is an example). So they aren't available. I always had deficits in bloom with Dyna's Bloom so I'd use GH's Bloom. I finally just went back to GH Flora three part. It's just easier. I love GH's Ca/Mg too it's a much better ratio. All my little Ca spotting I got disappeared.

I'm still using KLN in my cloner and am very happy with it. Does your DG Bloom get crystals in it?

Yup. Big old green flakes in the bottom of the bottle. I spent ages crushing and shaking and messing about.
I'll unscientifically add the last 1/4 of the bottle to an equal amount of warm water to dissolve the last few bits then increase dose by 1/3. Probably. When I get there. Or just keep on with the Grow thus run....

I'm kinda growing by ear anyway. I printed the charts then forgot what week it was, so now I look at them before doing my own thing.
I really should be a water only in amended soil grower. ... :D

Dynagrow <jacks

I try to avoid bottles that the directions say for ornamental plants only :)

Dynagrow line has some serious nasties in it...

So does this new heavy 16 line out of cali I see popping up.

Wtf...

Jacks has a line of pure hydroponic salts, it isn't the triple twenty stuff tho. I ran it for awhile, switched to a local vendor because I could save money on shipping. It's what commercial greenhouses use to grow cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.

I like the mix and separate buckets for calcium nitrate so I can play with the ratio a bit. It's stunningly cheaper, as well. Calcium nitrate dissolves in water almost immediately, amazing stuff. Everything else goes in the other bucket, simple enough. I do recommend making a sizeable stock solution with the mix, it tends to be more even.

like what?
Calmag. More fn calmag, all the way. Also when week four to five of flower hits i like to start weening out nitrogen. Really, fuck nitrogen at the end, if my damn plants would only yellow out id be happy. I run veg nutes till week four-five and the plants stay toooo green at chop. Im a fan of pk boosts and lowering nitrogen and calmag at the end of flower. I may back off a week on the veg vs bloom nutes by a week next run to see if i can get them to finnish faster.

I like the Heavy 16 a lot but I am not terribly concerned by meeting anybody's definition of organic. But can you be more specific about the things you don't like in both Dyna-Grow and Heavy 16? and what are we talking about in terms of why these things are bad? For example, do you not like them because of artificiality or human toxicity.

Heavy 16 veg has Molybdenum in it in high enough levels they had to put a disclaimer on the bottle explaining not to use on forage crops.

Dynagro says right on the bottle its for o rnamentals only... in the nutrient world a lot of nasty shot passes through the cracks... if they are mentioning these things on theor labels its not because they are trying to be good guys, its cause thwy are federally mandated to do so.

How you been baldrick? My time on riu has been minimal as of late

I see alot of newbie comments in this thread people.

just saying :)

jokes aside .

someone said cutting back on N during flower !!! This is the time your plant needs most feed and shying away from N is madness and shouldn't be done......... N helps photosynthesis, why would you cut it out of the most important stage of the plants life? Why !!!

and some said " ill buy veg nutes for flower because there not green enough"

you need more N in flower ......... Buy the bloom and a bottle of liquid seaweed <<< the N you need .

hope this helps and don't forget to ...... Im here to help ya need me :)
