A Unique Problem - Can't Smell

I have Insomnia and the only way I've found to sleep is Sleeping Pills or Alcohol.

However, my body doesn't tolerate alcohol well and gives me bad reactions from a full body rash to shaking hands and muscle weakness the next day.

The sleeping pills do work, but they make me drowsy the next day.

So I remembered back in High School (15 years ago) I used to smoke with my friends. Even then I had trouble sleeping and while I wasn't a big fan of the couch lock, I loved that I would sleep amazingly well and wake up feeling normal.

So now I am thinking of trying Marijuana again and just having a few puffs each night before bed. Problem is that it is very illegal in my State still and just 1 plant is a Felony. Not to mention I don't know anyone who smokes or can sell me any.

Now the Unique Problem is that I cannot Smell. From birth, I have never had the ability to smell. I could walk into the worst smelling bathroom on earth with my eyes closed and have no clue.

So now I want to get a small 2ft tall grow cabinet and grow 2 plants, but I live in an apartment building and worry everyone will smell it and I will be clueless.

Once a month a pest control guy comes and sprays the apartment. He's in and out in 2 minutes, but he does walk through the room where the cabinet would be.

Also, I rarely have people over, but when I do they would never go into the room where I plan on putting the cabinet and I would conceal it under some stuff just in case.

So my question is, am I stupid to think I can do this without messing up?

Will the pest control guy smell it and report it to the apartment manager or police?

Will people smell it from outside like I see on TV shows?

I would use a Stealth Grow Cabinet with a Carbon Filter, PLUS buy a ONA block and open it up whenever someone was coming over.

Also I did some research and found that Durban Poison and Northern Lights don't smell very much. So I would probably do one of each and just grow 2 plants.

Moveto a legal state, is my first advice ...just on medical grounds, keep in mind as a medical grower you will need several trees (3-5ft) per month to feed this habit, northern light auto would be your best short term plan, maybe not too many trees just maybe me wanting several trees per mont ...but as a medical grower this isin't gonna be no pc box or she box operation

i could definitely see where you would be concerned about a stealth grow if you can't smell; however, if you plan on utilizing a carbon filter and your cabinet has negative pressure so all the air exits through your filter, you'll be fine.

the ona gel could be overkill to me--it seems like it would be an advertisement that "i grow here." it is a super strong smell. if you want to add some smell cover on days your maintenance men for the apartment complex come in, candles or cooking up some bacon will do a better job.

northern lights would be a good choice as @vostok said but really as long as you've got your carbon filter you'll be fine. good luck on your first grow! there's a lot of great members here to help.

For your sleep try eating it rather than smoking. when fully decarboxylized THC turns into CBN which is a heavy sedative good for sleep disorders

Iv always wanted to hotbox the shit out of my filtered negitive pressure flower room just to see if anyone could smell it. I would move to another state where you will make pothead friends. Or just build a filtered smoke cab and light up. 2 puffs will be hard to track, but once you start smomin a joint every night then be careful.

I was planing on using a dry herb vaporizer, which hopefully makes a little less smell.

I'm bidding on a 2ft stealth grow cabinet on Ebay atm. It comes with cheap little Carbon Filters, but just to be safe I think I will do the DIY filter I found on this forum from Walmart.

Also, does growing weed smell the same as smoking weed?

I think some people around me smoke so that would be less a problem. Less than a ounce is just a fine or probation in most cases. Growing is jail or if you get a good lawyer, 1 year of probation and drug tests and drug court. (from what I read)

It smells similar but smoking smells like the growing smell plus combustion...I don't know how else to describe it. I think most people know what weed smoke smells like but if they caught a brief wiff of your plants (ie. If you open up your cabinet for a minute) they may think twice about what it was unless they're LEO. So the vaproizer is a good idea too.
