Pit bulls

I had a pit that was from a bad family. He had some serious problems but was my boy. He was 120lbs when he turned 2, fucking huge. Unfortunately, he had be so fucked by humans that he attacked my buddy one day and put 18 stitches in his neck. Although my buddy fought and fought as did I, animal control put him down for the attack. I swear he just had PTSD and had a flashback and attacked. Other than this one occasion, the dog was known to lick you and try to sit on your lap. He even was good with kids.

Now I can't even fathom the idea of another dog. It'll take a while to get over him.
They are great dogs, but just as any other breed, if they get treated like shit they might return the favor at some point.

So far what I know about her is that she is 4mo old, still isnt house broke, has a fun/funny personality, loves squeeky toys and is chomping on the kids alot (playful of course). Thats why my friend wants to get rid of her...kids are scared of getting chomped lol. I have a 3yr old Shepski that has the same funny personality... I think maybe she could housebreak her and train her some.

My bestie has had a pit bull for 10 years now? Lexi.

She is the CUTEST fucking thing. They got her when she was a puppy. She never had her ears or tail snipped.

I stayed with them, and one night went to get a drink of water. It was dark in the basement, and I heard "twap, twap, twap, twap".

I freaked out, blindly searching for the light switch. When I turned it on I saw it was Lexi on the couch. Her tail would wag whenever people were around.

She really is the sweetest dog!

Oh, but they have to be really careful of her around smaller dogs. She likes to "play". And her play is far too rough for little dogs.

But I think you made an excellent decision. Great dogs!

Im starting a trial period with a pit bull pup to see if she'll be a good fit for us. I have never owned a pitbull before. I was wondering who on RIU has a pit bull or has had one that can share some stories about their characteristics good and bad...thanks

Omg what a gorgeous looking pit. There very friendly by nature. There also very active breed they need lots of excercise and can tear Shit up untill they learn better. Very smart easy to train breed. There not the monsters people make them out to be.

dia ,it will be the most loyal dog you will ever own ,more than likely the dog will own you.i have 2 right now and have had 3 in the past and all were loving loyal animals ,the key to raising them is to socialize with other animals and children ,dont hate on them for tearing things up they do that because they are bored,if it is a male and you dont plan on breeding have him nutured ,they will piss on everything to mark territory,if it comes necessary to keep them in the house you wont regret nuturing him. both mine are inside dogs and they love attention ,just resting your hand on them is love to them. any way i could go on forever ,it just pisses me off how the breed is looked at ,when it comes down to it ,the raising and love you give it is how it will turn out. a damned chihuahua will rip your face off quicker than a bulldog,i hate a yappy ass little dog.if you have 15 acres that will keep him busy and take him places with you for socializing and he will be your best friend for life
