Hey, Its called a tricot. I have one in week one of flower, started that way from seed @Sativied actually breeds for this trait.

I have had two of them grow simular, from what I read they were referred to as a polyploid, a mutant genetic. one of them actually grew out of the polyploid traitthough the lower branches that held the tree do put off way bigger nugs then I woulda expected, the other died.also they came from two different strains

I also bred for this trait, the explosive growth in veg makes these some of the best SCROG varieties...

from my understanding refers to a type of stretchy clothing weave... Like underwear

and Whorled Phyllotaxy
refers to leaves growing in a spiral shape, like what happens when you re-veg....

POLYPLOIDIAL

Refers to the actual genetic structure of the individual organism. The extra chromosomes cause odd vegetative growth patterns, of strange variations of familiar plants. Polyploidism can be both a naturally occurring mutation and a result of experimentation using outside influence

Tricot is simply short for tri cotyledon. Cannabis is a dicot by default, other plant species include monocots. All tricots express whorled phyllotaxy on the main stem.

Whorled phyllotaxy and spiral phyllotaxy are not entirely the same thing but once alernating (during flowering but yes more obvious during reveg) it's technically no longer whorled phyllotaxy (all on same level, and rotated on the next level) but indeed spiral ( like a spiral staircase).

Polyploid says indeed something about the genetic make up. Polyploid cannabis is typically whorled though, but most whorled are not actually polyploids.

Hey guys, just thought I'd tell you how the plants are doing. Everything is really well, the Kimbo Kush still in the party cup is starting to yellow up alot, 3-4 weeks into flower now and she's a monster feeder!! I mean very hungry! She is also the same size if not bigger than the other cup plants that I up-potted to one gallon pots at the beginning of flower. Her flowers are also double in size/thickness compared to the other plants that were up-potted to the one gallons for some reason.

Everything else is looking good and is really starting to pack on the resin now. I think since I am out of the comp anyway I will up-pot the kimbo into a gallon pot as well before it gets further into flower as I don't wanna have to constantly brew small batches of teas for daily or every few days of feeding her, I think shes also very yellow due to being beyond root bound, she would make an amazing competitor for sure!! If i was still in this thing, but as I said root bound, monster feeder, and twice a day watering's being mandatory, I have had to pull off a few leaves as they were ready fall off due to the yellowing/ needing nutrients and being desiccated.

I'll take some pics this weekend for you guys. Everyone's doing great and I hope everyone else still in it at this point will finish! should be a good final, keep it up!

Hardy har har, if only it were that easy. The male sure knows that they're on 12/12, I don't know why the (potential)females haven't figured this shit out. I'd drop it from 12/12 to 11/13 to speed things up but I'm pretty sure that's against the rules, I think I have to stick with 12/12 since that's what I've been running from the start. I wonder if they're just late bloomers because I'm running such low wattage (Less than 100W actual draw between the CFL and the LED).

Here is my weekly update of my ugly girl. She's finally putting on bid sites, been watering when the lights come on and a hour or two before they turn off seems to be helping some hope she won't be so droopy but it might be permanent oh well it's my first time growing in cups. My non comp cup is doing pretty well with the blumat. I'll be using those and good strain seeds for the next comp. some awesome looking girls growing so far I'm pretty jealous it's been fun and learning a lot from this comp. Hoping to at least not get dead last that's my goal haha. Have a good weekend everyone bongsmilie

I had to hold the Dr. out of the way so we could see the whole plant. She's grown past most of the damage from hitting the light, and it's just some ugly leaves/leaf tips at this point.....I hope she keeps on it!

Did I say bodhi seeds NL #5 was showing some pink.... Ooooweeee look at the reflection in the fluorescent lights even that look like its giving off a pink auroa, pink showing in its leaf too!!!image.jpg
Have I told you about the smell yet??? Oh man it smells like a fresh cut Christmas tree with some kinda earthy hash like sweetness. I think I may need to re-veg this girl afterwards.image.jpg
