Proven methods for faster finishing?

I have 4 plants that look like they have about 2 weeks left and I really wasn't anticipating keeping them in the bud room longer than today -- anyone know how I can speed up this process a little bit? Maybe cutting my light to eight hours? I'm not concerned with losing a little weight, the buds are pretty good size already -- I just want them to hurry up -- I have a veg room that's getting very cramped.

I know flowering a complete cycle at 11/13 or 10/14 can shave a week or so but I'm not sure reducing light now will finish your buds more quickly.

I usually run 10/14 in the summer and it does finish things up a little bit faster. That's why I was thinking cutting to 10 or 8 might finish things up in a week instead of two or even eliminating a couple days would be nice because the ladies in veg seriously have been ready for a while now. Just a misjudgment on my part for haze dom. strains I've never run before. Edit: And a White Widow, which is kind of surprising to me that it's going to take over 70 days.

I might cut to 10 and see what that does -- couldn't hurt.

I suggest you lollipop them now cause after 3 or 4 weeks in flower room they will double
or more in size ,strain dependent , and not even my 1000w can get to the bottom. lolipop them half way or at least a third way up to start see how far the light penetrates .

Look for the "far red thread" in the LED forum. There are people who expose their plants to a few minutes of particular red light the moment lights go out. It puts the plants in a state it normally takes 1-2 hours to reach. They can then run something like 14/10. I believe they said the longer light time (without impacting the crucial process which occurs with lights out) leads to faster finish.

Your gonna kick yourself for chopping to soon. Remember the work and time involved , just to get to this point. Best too prethink your grows in the future so you don't have this problem.

Never said I was chopping early.....Just looking for a way to finish the plant a little earlier through manipulating its light cycle. If I have to wait the full 2 I will manage.

And I will be sure to prethink my grows in the future.

I see that GH actually recommends that you reduce light to 8/16 for the white widow for the last week because it tends to "lag".

The use of 730nm LEDs will not shorten finish times.....It only allows for extended lights on times and I am not to sure anymore if it has done anything worth what I intended when I began testing them.....we'll see.

The shorting of lights on times WILL have an effect of shortening a finish in differing ways.
To shorten times for Sativa's that seem to be lagging, this works well.

For your purpose, I would go right to 6/18 and that should help you out for what your looking for @unwine99

I was reading on this subject not so much to finish early but as to increase yields. Someone chopped all fan leaves and left sugar leaves around 2 weeks left. Now the concept was to force all the nuties into the buds and reduce wasted energy. What was found is that the buds got bigger and shaved off 1/2 or little more of a weeks worth of time on end product. The buds were fatter and the nutrients were drained from the soil by the plant to compensate for damage control.

Will it work IDK. BUT the guy said his yields were more and flowering time was cut some.

No I'm not. In fact many people have completely cut off all fan leaves in the last stage of flowering for yield purpose. On dispensary in CO has made this standard practice after have 1 bad plant and trying it. TY tho.

when im running into time restraints, occsasionally my veg timeing runs into my flower time schedule. happens quite often, lol. anyway, I super crop the fvck out of my veg plants, every day up until the last 1.5 weeks before I flip. as well as lollipop to remove the lower "garbage" that wont grow/yield into anything. It seems to work for me in the past.
