OG Kush Grow Issues

Indoor Grow. Watering every 3-5 days with 1 gallon R/O water mixed with 1 ml cal/mag , 1 ml grow big , 2 ml big bloom fox farm nuts at 250ppm 5.8 ph going in. Runoff comes out with 250-300 ppm and a ph of 6.1

Growing in a 1 gallon smart pot with a coco coir medium that was flushed and pre buffered and then mixed with 40% perlite that is below the top fresh layer of coco i added on the last watering to fill up the pot.

Currently 3 weeks from seed, the leaves were twisting really bad and starting to delevope the brown spots you see in the picture. The last couple watering's have been a full flush with a lite nutrient solution that seems to have corrected the PH issue, but now im currently stuck trying to figure out what else is going wrong with my lady. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks! :bigjoint:

Looks like over watering and a lack of nutrients somewhere but I haven't got a clue, I got issues in my grow too

Nah i think he has been over watering it for a long time. That's why the leaves turned wierd. How long has the plant been in that state? How often do you water it? For that container i'd guess u probably have to water it once every 2 days. I don't believe its nutrient burn but do you feed it anything?
The plant has been in this state for about 2 weeks now, growing semi fast but always drooping and brown spots on the leaves. Started flushing about a gallon every 3-5 days when the top layer is dry and the pot starts to feel light. I've always watered with a light nutrient mix of R/O cal/mag big bloom and grow big at about 250ppm ph to 5.8 going in. I wasn't sure if it was over watering or not, last time i let the plant go 5 days before watering the whole plant started to droop. Thanks for the reply hope we can figure this out

5.8 is what i start out with in coco i would up the cal mag & possibly the grow a wee bit & then read your newest top growth the old growth is already effected by whatever caused your problem if your getting growth thats a good sign what are you using for light & how far above the plant is it??? if youre using hid lighting dont be surprised if it snaps out of it i flooded my 2 gal smart pots daily coco isnt soil its more like a hydro medium you might look at my second skywalker grow in my signature & see if there might be any useful info good luck

Thanks for the advice. On the next watering i'll up the cal a bit about 2 ML and the grow a wee bit about 2.5 or 3 ml, currently using for the veg cycle 1 100 watt cree led 5600k about 8 inches above the canopy, also using 3 15 watt LED light strips with blue/red lights attached with magnets on the side of the case. Lights running 24/7 temps stay in the 70-75 f range 40-50% humidity. Checking out your grow now horribleherk and it looks fantastic, will read it and see what i can learn.

the led lights have always fascinated me ive long wanted an area 51 im getting good results with the switchable 250-400 galaxy as its performance= $'s spent has been outstanding the skywalker is an og type plant so possibly some simularities to what youre growing im in the process of moving so the grows in my signature are my latest grows i use the botanicare coco in the bag 60% & 40% perlite i use lemon juice to lower ph. & baking soda to raise it

Hi, coco is a soil less medium, but you using it like if it was a organic soil. First off you need to water it once a day for the first 2 weeks, once root system will be fully developed, than you will need to water it 3 times a day. It's very important to have 10% run-off every time you water it. Also you should not feed it every day, first day feed, second day pH'ed water. If this is an auto-flowering strain than your PPM's are good, if it's photo period strains, than you need to increase you PPM's to 400. And slowly raise it to 1000-1400 through it's grow cycle.
I am not familiar with nutrients that you are using, but it's important to make sure if they have all macro and micro. From the picture, it looks like a multiple deficiency including micro and macro.

Some good information thanks Johny, I have read before about coco needing to be watered way more often then i've been watering but was afraid i would create more issues, this is my first grow in coco so i'm using some old fox farm soil nutrients from last seasons soil grow. I always water till run-off but have only been watering every 3-5 days and feeding at each watering. Could the fox farm soil nuts im using be causing this micro issue on my OG kush non auto plant? The other plant im growing a Hawaiian skunk haze in the same case in coco with no perlite is looking fantastic with no issues yet and at the same age but twice the size and it has been watered a bit more often then the OG kush. I did water the OG kush today with a 400 ppm mix of grow big 2.5ml big bloom 2ml and 3ml cal/mag with 10% runoff. Thanks for the reply i'll start following your schedule and see if i can get things to turn around and maybe order some coco nutrients if its needed!

led lights fascinated me as well for many reasons, really enjoying the lower temp output and so far they seem to put on some good weight come flowering time. Currently using for flowering x2 100 watt Blackstar UFO in a micro grow case. Last season was the first time i used LED lights for flowering a snowcap bag seed. Pulled 1.5 oz in a one gallon pot in a very small case 22" by 8" wide. Oh and btw I read through your full grow journal for your sky walker grow and all i gotta say is i'm extremely impressed with what you we're able to grow in coco that was one of the best looking plants I've seen. What nutrients did you use?

You very welcome mate.
Using soil nutrients in coco is not very good idea. You need a specific coco designed nutrients. Canna, IONIC, Plant Magic and a lot of other companies do coco nutrients. But before you start buying coco nutrients, I would like to warn you, even though coco speed up growths a little and increase yield production by maybe 10%. It's not worth growing in coco unless you are industrial grower. Coco is too much work (watering 3 times a day), and a very high chance for making mistake. Grow in soil, just feed with 1/2 recommended dose once every 4-7 days, and let the nature do it's job.
