What would you use for the given space ? I've ordered 4 CXB3590 3000K CB That will go in the 1m X 1m
Would that set up still benefit from 1 or 2 uncovered blues?

So I still have 4 or 6 of these drivers left. Are there any possibilitys of stringing together some vero29's 3000k or other options that might suit these drivers?
As would also like to make 2 panels for the veg shelves, 1 for seedlings/cuttings/mothers and one for bringing on
plants.
I can see myself getting new drivers if these are not suitable for that, but given the space, i would like to go with different heat sinks
in the veg shelves, the more linear type, something 80cm by 35/40cm with a few cobs better suited for veg in a confined space.

This is just a small hobby for me, something to save me money ;-)

Thanks again to all who have contributed, I'm quite enjoying this learning curve.

4 CXB3590s @700mA over 1x1m is on the lower side but it'll work.

The drivers would work well for 2 V29's in series. But I'd choose 2 V18's instead, difference in efficiency is not high.

Each emitter is going to be burning 49w at that current.

~22w sqft @ 51% eff

Wouldnt hurt to throw more wattage in there, especially since its a matter of hanging it up and turning it on.

The driver can fit 2 x v29, cxa3070, and a bunch of other combinations of lower voltage cobs. Same driver, more heatsink real estate required.

I keep a couple low power led bulbs on my moms and clones because they cost nothing to run and i like to keep a short leash on my moms.

So, just wanted to thank you ALL again :-) I now have 5 cxb3590's up and running.
I got 4 from KB and they were an easy install with the holders from newark, all up and running
and i have to say, the quality of light, to the human eye, is just astounding, time will tell what the
plants think, but after 1 week, there are certainly signs that this is the right track :-)

So I ordered 2 more cxb3590-30g-cb-roh-00001 from digikey (packaging was identical to KB's) and thought i would try something a little different
with these, maybe a mistake, but time will tell.

For these 2 (one is complete) I thought to use akasa thermal adhesive tape, instead of holders, and break out
my soldering iron which has been unused in the garage for 22 years. This monstrosity is the result of that decision

Looks OK. Some pictures with holders would be appreciated, too.

I will try to remember to snap some pics when i hang these 2 in there tonight.

So now i will have 6 X 72v cxb3590 in a 1m by 1m space and can finally
say good buy to my old work horses the 250w hps one of which is I think
18 years old, she has been a trouper though.

On wards and upwards, and thank you again, I certainly could not of done this
without this forum and its fine members.

Thanks, I think I certainly hit lucky there, what with the drivers and heat sinks being a good fit for the cxb3590's

Just running it for an hour or so to check tempratures, so thought i would take a pic through
some wielders glass.

Just working it out,and I have 6 cxb3590 units for a cost of £290 all in.

I see. Rebels and remote phosphor. Interesting, I couldn't see it in the original photos.

Electrically, it's just a simple swap. You'd use just 2 wires - black (!!! + !!!) and yellow (-).

Mechanically, I can't say as I've never seen that light in reality. The original LED engine seems to be much higher than 3590 (which is flat).
If I had a brain fart and accidentally wired the red and black instead of black and yellow for a brief second, what might i have done ? is there a chance i have just switched something off, or might i have really buggered it up ? I should of double checked your advice here, rather than relied on my not so great memory.
I have rewired it correctly now, but I'm not getting any current ;-\

What is thermal derailing ? NCT ?

You might have damaged the LEDs connected on the driver.

Thermal derating is a process of lowering dissipation when the temperature is too high. It uses negative thermal coefficient resistors thermally connected with the LEDs to sense the temperature.

Thankfully, the cxbs are fine, just changed them over to new drivers and all is good. But, that is leaving me with 2 drivers that aren't firing up the lights, any ideas ? and thanks a ton for you're advice so far mate :-)

Hi, sorry, wanting to be spoon feed again :-) really loving the cxb3590 3000's just a beautiful light, and the palnts
are totally loving it under them.

Now to the spoon feeding, I have a spare cxb 3590, heat sink (same as above) but no driver, I am running the current
cobs softly, and all is well, but i would quite like to run this spare hard, and place it centrally , with 4 cxbs orbiting it, in
a 1m X 1m tent, which would allow me to use 2 of my lights else where.

So what im asking is, what is a good driver match to run a single cxb3590 as hard as possible ( I will add a fan to the heat sink this time)

Thanks for all the spoon feeding so far, you lot haven't let me starve yet :-)
