Hey guys, ive been lurking here for a while and have learned a lot so thanks to everybody for that. I have done a few small grows in the past but not a pro by any means. My current setup is 4x4 apollo tent, 600w quantum ballast with digilux mh and hps bulbs, apollo air cooled hood, max fan pro 6" 420 cfm. Will be doing 6 plants in 5 gal pots. I have been doin some temp testing before i start and my day and nighttime temps stay right about 74 with 45rh. I know thats fine with lights on but ive always had temps in the high 60s with lights off previously. Do u think this will cause any Problems since theres no drop in Temp? also the fan has a built in speed controller which i run at full 420 cfm lights off and the minumum which is around 290 with lights on. Thanks for any info or advice.

I'm running the same size setup, six 5gal may be too much for a 4x4. I only run four, but I veg 4-6 weeks. 6 plants may be doable, but it'll be tight in there. Six 5's seem like a good fit when empty, but when you get big plants in them it's too much, for both the space and the light, imo.

Of course, everyone grows differently. Whatever you chose, good luck!

Where in this growroom are you getting the temperature from?
Because if the thermometer is anywhere other than rite at the top of plant canopy/under the lights, you might be plesantly surprised that there is a temp dif after all.
For example: if thermometer is on the wall, away from lights(in some random location), and it reads 70F with lights on, there's a very good chance that it is warmer under the lights, at plant canopy. <that diference will be determined by whether or not lights are air-cooled, fan action, etc.
Although not Ideal, I've had a sealed flip flop room/s setup, where both rooms were on/off at opposite lighting cycles, and both rooms shared the same air. Yes, the room in the night cycle had elevated co2(didn't hurt anything). Anyways, we set Ac to 70F, and realized, it still will work out fairly good, because it was 78f ish under the lights. Those lights were Non-air-cooled light fixtures. :-) That room served me well, while it was going.

What I don't like is the 74F at night time, that your rockin. Not saying it will grow boo-boo that way, but i'm more of a 69F guy myself;-)

yup thats where i have the thermometer so i think im getting a accurate reading. I live in san francisco so the weather can change often, today the tent stays right about 67 with lights off. for the Hotter days i might just have to get a small ac, like u said 74 is pretty high for nighttime. I have read it can be good to have no temp diff for the first few weeks but after that the leaves will start to chanege color. This sound accurate?

We all did that once didn't we, got our tent and put the pots in like holy hell I can fit six plants, then realized the plants take up more space than the pot lol.

I've grown all around the bay area for the last 20+ years, and have never, ever needed an ac near SF or Santa Cruz or say, pacifica or HMB. San Ho, yes(in the summer)
Easy money in those cooler climates:hump:
Can you put your intake/exhaust on a day/night temp switch? Although not 100% necessary, it can def help you dial shit in.

Hey nice to meet someone else from the bay. I live on the second floor and have direct sun shining in my room so it can get into the 70s. I blacked out my windows which has helped, today temps are stayin right at 65, 50 rh so things are lookin good. i was thinkin about getting a environment controller to make things easier in the future.

We have not had one single problem with autopilot devices.

i have also seen a lot questions on discretely venting out a window. I used foam board to cover the windows, but kept the blinds on so nothing can be seen from the street. The other window has a hole Cut in the foam board for fresh air with a pillowcase covering it to keep light out. The last pic is how it looks from the street, just looks like blinds.

That looks like exactly what i need, unfortunately i still need a carbon filter, ph and ppm meter and clones and money is tight so i will havta hold off on that since its not a necessity for now. What part of the bay are u in?

I'm no longer in the bay area. I'm up in the 530 now. But born in Santa cruz. Then moved over the hill to Almaden. Then like I had said, lived and grew all around the rest of the Bay Area:-)

Go Giants!
Finally, the home opener:-)

Oh hell yes, unless something's dreadfully wrong. Lst, etc & light coverage also play roles that are easy to misjudge the first time or two. Curious to see what he ends up with.

Thanks for the input guys. I was worried 6 in 5 gal pots might be too much but since im going to add a 400w mars led for side lighting i was hoping that would help the lower buds. would 6 in 3 gal pots be better If im gonna veg till they're about 18 inches?
