I can attest these lights are amazing.
ppf 1.95 per watt .
Suns systems makes some solid lights and these are some of the best.

Welcome to the world of verticle bulbs/grows... Also that's a much better price butstill alot for what it is I'd say no more then 300$ for that 315 watt vertical reflector cmh bulb.. again some might argue that is to much even.. also you eBay is the Shit sometimes same with Amazon but its ok you keep on paying the grow shop light prices..

Aw damn it! I was gonna start this thread as soon as I chopped my ladies and considered myself qualified 
I have the sunsystem LEC 315. Paid $500 for the 120v model in November at way to grow, they price matched what I'd found online. This is pretty much my first grow other than one time like 7 years ago with CFLs. I have a couple of friends that grow with 600 watt HPSes, though, so believe me when I say I have a reference point.
these pictures are from day 59 from seed (mostly, a couple got started 10 days late), day nine of 12/12, the bud pics are an autoflower! The LEDs on the sides didn't get added until 12/12 started.
the point I wanna make is that in the middle/right side of the tent we see that these lights generate big badass plants. On the left side we see that these lights grow trichs as well. I don't wanna run around tooting my own horn but I think my friends are gonna be jealous.

I'd like to add they do make a double lamp , it's the sun systems 630 lec.
The lamps run horizontal and that comes with spectrum shift making a 3100k lamp run at 3600k.
Personally I don't see a need/use for this lamp and opted to go with two 315s.
In the end I'll probably have a couple more but right now I'm giving DE a shot.
The lec will either hang on the rail with the DE or I'll throw the pair in a 4by4 tent and see what happens.
I bought the 4200k 315 for veg . Don't remember who but someone wasn't that impressed with the results they had with the 4200k lamp. I figure I'll find out for myself.

What makes that bu lb and ballast so much better then a 20/30$ regular 400 watt cmh that will fire up in. A 400 watt humming cheap last forever hps ballast......

Is a old mag ballast you use square wave? We should already know it's low freq.

The lamp is not new, we've been recommending it since its release in here.......Yes their good.Here's a thread about some "other lighting" than LED.
Phillips has a new lamp and fixture to replace the Ceramic Metal-Halide. It comes in 315 watts, and supposedly replaces a 600w or more. The PAR and UV output are better, and I've heard that there is very little heat produced. It also has a CRI of 92.
I haven't used one, but a friend is using several now. I think I would spend $600 on one of these before I spent the same amount on an LED fixture.
I was wondering if anyone here is using them, or if you have an opinion about them.
A little spring cleaning in this section is a more pressing matter IMO.....riddled with trolls

Wow, seriously? I'm thinking of upgrading my lighting and I've been looking at these vs building my own LED setup. Do you have to buy the reflector to get decent pricing? I run vert so I really don't want their box.

I ran the 860W CDM lamp, it was designed to run on a thousand watt magnetic ballast- but set to MH (SAE M47). I wasn't impressed with either quality or quantity but I'm more inclined to believe it has to do as much with older tech and the old school mag ballast than any inherent design issues with the tech.
The old style magnetic ballasts do NOT emit a square wave output, and in fact I think that's one of the reasons the 860W CDM didn't perform very well.
