What do you want to bet that there is only one Cree LED in each cluster?
Yea didn't look at it that close,I've just seen other lights use that tactic, chances are they're mid bin at best with a old chip. If they were real cheap it may be a starter panel for someone with no DIY skills. The boards in their pics are all xpe. Big whoop. A 5 year old chip.
The question isn't are they Crees...it's what bin are they?
I want to verify that they are All CREE LED chip light .What do you want to bet that there is only one Cree LED in each cluster?
Kind lights actually cost less than most other LEDs, and from what I can tell out perform them too. They just won LED grow light of the year. The way Kind (Lush, HydrogrowLED, Blackdog, Platinum and Growblu) hype their lights, we both know they'd use the quality of diodes as a selling point if it were even remotely something to brage about. The fact that they're silent about it shouldn't be hard to understand: it's epi-whatever diodes.
A person can do better for the money. No secret sauce spectrum, no mystery diodes.
That means they're rebranded Chinese epi-whatever lights. MarsHydro and all the others "make their own diodes" too. They buy raw dies and encapsulate them on-site to unknown specifications, without applicable datasheet. They actually manufacture their own diodes.
This guy is drinking the kool-aid.Kind lights actually cost less than most other LEDs, and from what I can tell out perform them too. They just won LED grow light of the year.
Are you saying spectrum doesn't matter? So what are you running 100% white diodes? Their spectrum works. That's what matters.
And believe what you want but I think the secondary optical lense really helps.
I actually called them, because I can and they are good enough to offer their customers great tech support. They actually manufacture their own diodes.
I also know my light is backed by a warranty for 3 years by the top name in the industry. I don't know how to build an LED, and I certainly don't know how to fix one.
Show me a light that has all those things and let's talk.
Area51 doesn't have a lifetime warranty. I posted Area51's warranty once before and everyone said I was lying. Despite the fact they can go to their website and see it for themselves. What brand of diodes does Kind use? Epiwhatever? Cree? Osram?
The last time I looked they didn't mention what they use. Considering the price they charge and the amount of hype on their web site, I concluded that if it was something to brag about they would. The fact that they weren't bragging about it, I would assume epiwhatever diodes.
Basically a rebranded chinese import sold at a premium. For the same price you could get efficient LEDs and a lifetime warranty from Area51.
I'm sure it will grow well. It's just that you'll have to run 30% more watts, generate more heat. And, sadly, you can do that for much less with a MarsHydro. At least with those you get your money's worth. With Kind (Lush, HydroGrowLED, Blackdog, GrowBlu, PlatinumLED) you don't.
Even Cree has what are called "seconds" (meaning they don't pass their quality standards) that they sell to re-manufactures.I mean they are real Cree LED chip ?
Original or future owners of a light can replace parts at wholesale forever. That sounds like a lifetime warranty to me.Even Cree has what are called "seconds" (meaning they don't pass their quality standards) that they sell to re-manufactures.
"Are you saying a lifetime warranty means free replacement forever?" Yes, exactly, or a refund.Original or future owners of a light can replace parts at wholesale forever. That sounds like a lifetime warranty to me.
Are you saying a lifetime warranty means free replacement forever? I don't know many who would expect that.
Or just another undercover salesman. This guy is drinking the kool-aid.
If it were "lifetime" I wouldn't. That would be like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and expecting to live there for a month because, hey, it says "All I can eat." It didn't say anything about within a certain timeframe. If you took your car in for repairs under warranty, would you expect to pay for the parts and install them yourself?
So, for a car, warranty means one thing, for a lamp it's something different? I didn't say I expected "a free light in perpetuity." I expect them to honor their TWO YEAR warranty that they advertise. Buffets don't offer warranties, and have nothing to do with this conversation. You can call it whatever you like, but you'll be wrong. You making false claims is doing a disservice to Area51.If it were "lifetime" I wouldn't. That would be like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and expecting to live there for a month because, hey, it says "All I can eat." It didn't say anything about within a certain timeframe.
I think I'll continue to call it a lifetime warranty. I'll let you explain how you expect a free light in perpetuity.
They do. In addition, they offer a lifetime parts replacement:I expect them to honor their TWO YEAR warranty that they advertise.
That is a lifetime warranty. There is no legal definition for that term.[1] It provides a benefit that is not available to non-owners of the light. Just because you insist that the benefit should be 100% replacement doesn't mean that a warranty isn't being made (to replace both defective and worn parts at cost.).Limited Lifetime Warranty
During the first 24 months starting from date of delivery, we offer a full bumper to bumper warranty, we will replace any part that fails free of cost.
After 24 months we will offer replacement or upgrade parts for life, we will offer those parts at cost.

They manufacture their own diodes ??? Are you serious ?? They manufacture in China or USA ???Kind lights actually cost less than most other LEDs, and from what I can tell out perform them too. They just won LED grow light of the year.

Yeah, they are XPE . A 5 year old chip ,but it means they make their LED Grow light with Cree led chips and top quality one , area 51 with Cree , AdvancedLED with Cree , both are good quality and well-known by growers .The boards in their pics are all xpe. Big whoop. A 5 year old chip.
The question isn't are they Crees...it's what bin are they?
