IMO 3 would make it awkward as two of the 3 would fill the net quicker than the 3rd as one plant would have more room to cover based on a square scrog and square spread of your 400 hps

Where as two or 4 they would have equal space to cover in the square if u get me?

Just trying to help done lots of scrogs

50 watts per square foot is the general rule. i recommend a 2'x4' space with one 400 watter (equals out to exactly 50 watts/sq. ft.) if you want to do a scrog i suggest 2 plants. don't be fooled into thinking more plants = more yield. a 2'x4' space with 400 watts of light will make for a beautiful 2 plant scrog if done right.

happy growing brother!

The number of plants is up to the grower... When it comes to indoor growing, it's about how many lumens per Sq. Ft. your pushing out, not how many plants... Ive gotten 5 more ounces off 4 plants in the same 5x5 1kwatt setup as I did when I put 12. This was due to the plants being over crowded and light weight suffocating each other. The 4 plants each had ample room for them to fully stretch out and get more bud sites hit with the lights, therefore more big nugs. When it comes to indoor, more plants, does not mean more bud... Outdoor on the other hand, Plants def. means more bud because it's a vast amount of light that is not constricted with a 5x5,10x10,etc grow room perimeter. AS for the indoor most growers prefer at least 5000 lumens per Sq. Ft. But 2000-3000 would still suffice. In case you don't know, your Sq.Ft. is calculated by multiplying your Length by the width. So if I had a 5x5 room, I would have 25 Sq. Ft. If I had my 1k watt, that puts out around 180000 Lumens, then 180000 / 25 = 7200 Lumens per sq Ft. The more lumens you have per Sq Ft. the faster, bigger and more potent it will grow. Hope this was helpful! Good luck to ya bro!

Blue Dream is on my next Herbie's list as is Fruit Punch. I prefer a Sativa high. I grow in soil. I have 5 plants. 2 Sourd clones I've grown 3 years now a super silver haze and 2 super lemon haze. Love lemon.
