First time I've heard that, Mad and I ask in all earnestness, what did Rosenthal get wrong? Anything that harms plants ? (I'm only halfway through the book so far).
Off the top of my head was the recommendatiom for lime in organic (dolomite lime is bad enough but the amount he recommended was like ten times what is needed I will go look it up I have the book somewhere), the info on coco growing would guarantee a failure pretty much, bad advice like not telling about how to rinse or mix seperate grades and amounts of perlite needed etc, also inaccurate info like 'coco cannot be over watered' which is total BS too unless the mix is just right. Conflicting info within one page like the whole thing with different conditions affecting the sex of the seed as it germinates (sex is determined at conception so the whole idea is BS anyway) I guess it is a good intro and overall look, and the section on pests is great. But yes, far as the edition I have is concerned there is information in there that can damage your plants. RIU has incredible quality info. The stickies are all very good. Guys in the Hydro and Organic sectioms have toms of knowledge and are helpful fellas that will answer questions relative to your situation and in real time. Plus many new ideas are constantly being debated and refuted, some real weed nerds here that sit right on the cutting edge of growing. IDK they might have fixed that book by now but far as I am concerned it is a coffee table novelty.First time I've heard that, Mad and I ask in all earnestness, what did Rosenthal get wrong? The power company doesn't care how much electricity you use. As far as they are concerned the more the merrier. Be safe, Be smart and don't create your own issue that they have to fix. They are only responsible up to the meter. They shouldn't be allowed inside the residence anyway. That is a job for your own hand picked "cool" electrician. The leading cause of busted grows is from jacking electricity pay your bills and no questions will be asked
Then smile big my friend. More smile = more light = more bud = more smile = .........My beaming smile is all the light my plants need.
Patience my friend:There's the conundrum. Smoking makes me smile but I have nothing to smoke. If I did, my plants would be budding by now.
At the rate they're growing, I'll be dead before I can hit the fucking things.
Read this thread. Set aside a week or what it will take a while. Rrog dispels all organic myths and dishes out some insane secrets along the way. Many references for good books. If medicinal ganja is your goal organic is the only way. http://rollitup.org/t/so-who-here-is-growing-in-true-organic-living-soil.583341/Any other books you'd recommend?
I haven't actually reached the growing advice sections, but learned history, about terpenes, light measuring, etc that I thought was pretty good.
And yes, I'm well aware of the great advice here. After visiting a dozen forums - a few others are decent - this seems to be the most active and most helpful online currently.. It can be a challenge at times b/c different growers have different motivations for being in the biz and some excel at advanced stuff that can be a bit too tough for a noob.
I can help you out here if you would like me to. The way I do things you will need to spend a tiny bit of money on making a home soil mix first of all. No messing about. If you can start some new beans that would be fantastic. Getting very good results within a twelve week time span is easy to do, and very simple too. Going organic and doing it right is the most simple way you can imagine. Take heart, absolutely nobody has a perfect first run! But we can get you kicking soon enough. Here are some examples of my work, if you would like a hand give me a shout and we get talking http://rollitup.org/t/organic-tests-and-runs-gage-and-bodhi.833994/There's the conundrum. That's really good to hear.Hey man I've been watching the thread for a while and from one first time grower to another don't be so freaked out about how small they are, mine were all small until like last week (4th week since germination for me) and have since grown like an absolute shit ton, like everyone else says I'm just kinda trying to get them to go full cycle since Im aware that as a first timer theres a lot of stuff out there I don't know/understand yet ill just be happy to get a couple buds and a better understanding of growing at the end. I still even actually have a plant barely bigger than yours that only just started growing again like a couple days ago but yeah thats all I got to say man you're not the only one who's wondering why their plants aren't really growing but these things seem to sort themselves out.
