DE is not a chemical. it is fossilized shell flower, and it is totally edible and used as a filler in way more foods than you would imagine. Wish you all luck with your BT. And; BTW; You use a garden duster to apply DE Food Grade Codex. It is a dry application.

De is a white powder/dust. So you spray this on your flowering buds? Doesn't it stick and ruin the flowers?

Not at all. DE Food Grade Codex si full of minerals, and as long as you apply gently, and, if necessary wash off later; You will be fine.

After using all of the old school recommended remedies for pests. Most failed. I got this to eradicate spider mites. It did the job, and I have never had a spider mite since. I have advised people all over the world to try this amazing "dug from the earth", product.

so we are talking about a light dusting on the plant material itself ?

Food grade DE is bad for the lungs if inhaled.

I don't trust it. Dusting a flowering plant with DE then just washing it off and giving the buds to people to break up and smoke seems wrong.

But maybe there's something I'm missing or not considering. I'm curious to hear back from @latewood .

Last year BT worked great!!! At night once a week we would turn a light on in the greenhouse, shake the plants one by one and chase the moths down lol. Best season Ive had without much worm damage. And DE, lol, my family drinks that shit for health reasons.

I already have little pillars hatching and hanging down from the oak trees around my grow spot today . I've been spraying them with BT and just squeeshing them whenever I see them. I think it's the good weather we've been having these last few weeks in Ca is making them hatch already.... At least in my area of central CA
