Once you get started you cannot stop! It's an addiction with no end!!
A friend of mine just acquired a bunch of grow equipment and asked if I needed anything. Said for free! I told him no!! All I need is more lighting. That will make me want to stuff more in the room. The wife caught wind of it and told me to grab a light. I had to say no.
I try to keep my electrical use down below $90 per month for my rooms.
It would be very easy to get carried away!!

You got that right - I'd much rather spend $$ on equipment, soil, amendments etc than weed.
It just seems to be stupid easy math.

I am at the point that all I spend money on is light bulbs, electricity and water. I've been using the same soil for over a year along with the amendments I purchased over a year ago. It just keeps getting better! I am an experimenter and hope to some day make it all the way through a grow on water only. I tend to fade around day 45 or so at the moment.
I noticed a pretty serious fade on a couple of my plants this year - the others look fantastic & same soil just different strains.
I've been using the same soil for the last 3 years as well - I just amend it & away we go.

I picked up the holy grail and platinum bubba strains this year and they are some finicky plants! Great smoke but dayum they fade early! I am on my second round with them so I hope to figure out what they want.

I'm sure you know this already, but be aware of the heat that those lights are going to produce.
I thought I could skirt that issue when I first started with 600's.Learned the hard way you can't cheat the laws of thermodynamics.

My best advice is to "expect heat issues" and have a plan to deal with them.
It will happen - just be prepared for it.
