So I've been trimming leaves off during flowering? is this wrong thing to do?

So basically I've been trimming any leaves that the colour has faded into a yellow shade or has yellow spots (not because of nut deficiency). these are just old leaves the texture and feel has also changed and gone much tougher.
I also been cutting few leaves off that are either been pushed down under bushy plant and no longer getting any light and have started to go yellow, or leaves that are blocking light from get to lower stems/buds, is this wrong thing to do?
Also last question, when I cut leaves off I usually cut half of the stem off and leave half of the leave stem still attached to the plant, is this also a wrong thing to do? maybe energy is wasted? help me thanks.

Some say it is...I do it all the time in about 6-8 wks of flower for all the same reasons;)
Yeah I heard that too, people say like "It will reduce yield as less light is getting absorbed by the leaves" more leaves = more energy and say that if the plant is ready to drop the leaf it will you don't need to do it.
So Yeah that's what I've been wondering.
Instead I haven't done any sort of lolipopping at all, I've even left the lower smaller branches instead done this method to get them to grow taller.

you should start defoliating in veg so the plants are little used to it. might stress em enough to shoot out nanners in flower. jmo

They will actually grow taller if you get rid of the under belly stuffs. all the energy is then directed more to the top and not the scraggly stuffs on bottom;) I start doing this at a young age in veg.

awww, man I'm almost 3 weeks into flower I've actually got the lowest stem to grow so tall that is almost catching up to upper stem (despite being really skin and still hasn't matured yet because it still grows 3 fan blades not 6 blades on leaf)

I do it too. But, I don't cut. I just kinda pop em off with my index finger in a downward motion and the snap off easily because they are dieing. I don't really mess with anything that's healthy tho, I have before if it gets too bushy.

Nope, a leaf is either a source or a sink, meaning, if it isn't making food, it is storing it. Bad gardening causes dead leafs.
so If I leaves don't get light due to plant being too bushy could this be the cause ? what can you do to improve this if this is the cause.

We strip all fan leaves on the first day of flowering and at the start of week four. I do not recommend leaving the petiole stem attached, I've seen botrytis take hold outdoors when petioles are left during defoliating and as a preventative measure i would not leave them indoors.

When stripping leaves, grab the petiole and yank in a downward motion to cleanly seperate them from the stalk.

I understand that fan leaves not only perspire, but also respire through stomata, but i have found better overall results when defoliating plants at the right stages.

I have never done it but always been curious however this time round I've lost 80% of leaves 3 weeks in due to some freak nute burn due to humidity stress, and within a week a notice a huge difference in buds site growth, could just be a coincidence, but I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome these moos are like skeletons compared to the bushes I normally have

shave your pubes and your dick looks bigger, amazing ain't it?
people should strive to grow big green healthy leaves, that is what makes big buds.

https://www.rollitup.org/t/gavitas-ogs-and-rockwool.863851/#post-11404670 yeah chuck, not to be a dick, but i assumed the whole point was to grow flowers not leaves
that is the problem with weed growers, they think weed is special and is different from any other plant. Try growing for great healthy green leaves and you will get the best/most flowers available. It actually takes talent to keep a plant healthy till the end. the urge to follow marijuana forum bs is hard to resist.

try it and you might just get that 1.5 gpw with those gavitas. I get buds as big as my hand with my gavita @ 825 watts
