Nutrients for First Coco Grow

What genetics? Sometimes you can get away with paying less, I tried getting 50 super skunk seeds for royal queen and I regret it now, my best girl came as a solo seed from dank bluedream.

4 of them were white widow x big bud and I can't remember what the other 3 pack was, either the cheapest or 2nd cheapest. 3 of the seeds are just some random seeds they throw in free. So you know they're quality lol.
I 've bought seeds from Sensi before that didn't pop. So it took me a while to even think about buying seeds again.

I'm still going to try this but haven't been to the hydro shop yet. I do however have a question regarding the N content in the Citrus FeED. Its mostly from urea? This confuses me as I thought urea nitrogen needed to be broken down by beneficials, for soil growing basically. They say Coco is hydroponics and I do not use any bennies so... ? But I've seen pictures of the results of people like you who use it, like I said... confused

My last feeding had 2 plants with a slight tip curl down. Just using Jacks and some Pro Tekt. This is one of my current plants. image.jpg

Its NOT lacking sulfur bro. Just off the top of my head it has around 250ppm sulfate which is around 80ppm sulfur.

The thing with jacks pro (5-12-26) and the calnit mix (15-0-0) is that sometimes you need to add ca/mg. For me that rarely happened.

The citrus mix that someone above mentioned is really good too.

Interesting. According to their guaranteed analysis it contains no sulfur.
And the citrus feed has a shit load of urea nitrogen. I don't know much about ammoniacal and urea forms of nitrogen. I grow with hydroponics so I stick with nitrate nitrogen.

if you use the 5-12-26 with 15-0-0 from jr peters then its nitrate nitrogen. Urea nitrogen, I agree should be avoided. But if you scan through rollitup you will see people are still happy with the results from the citrus feed. The threads go back years.

As for the guaranteed analysis saying no sulfur. Where did you look? I went to their website and it doesnt show it so I assume thats where you looked.

coco is really simple with botanicare's cns17 line. i use their cns17 grow, bloom, and ripe, as well as their cal-mag and silica blast. the price is amazing and so are the end results.

Do not know what that is. Yes, it says 5-12-26 but I not see anything saying Jacks 5-12-26. There are others with the same npk ratio. Not saying it is or isn't but no, the analysis on Jack's own website does not show any sulfur content.
Anyways, I am not looking into Jack's anything at the moment. Local store doesn't carry any of their products. I am just using lucas formula using GH's micro and bloom with cal-mag and epsom salts. Working great

Rocked with the CNS-17 in coco for over 6 years now but they recently changed the formula so it looks like a time to try some different nute's. I just run the CNS-17 bloom with Hydroplex added for flower.
 
I do recirculating coco with house and garden aqua flakes a&b ,liquid karma,hydroguard, call mag works great if your going dtw use coco a&b instead of aqua flakes

Next time I would opt for dynagro - Only need foliage pro and protekt for veg through flower, just adjust the amount you use per gallon. nothing else. Never have cal or mag issues. Be careful, strong stuff.
 
Youtube search a two part vid by Harley Smith from NPK industries. Its a semi sales pitch but alot more information on nutrients for plants. Its extremely insightful and informative to listen to

him talk. He used to work for HDI (Ionic) out of lansing. I know him personally and this guy is a walking library of knowledge on plant nutrient chemistry. He explains why plants dont need high phosphorus feeds middle and late in flower. They really only need a slight bump in early flowering. They also need slight increases in magnesium sulphate early on. What plants and not just cannabis really bloom and
flower great with is potassium sulphate in middle to late flowering. Greenhouse veggie and flower growers have known this for years and there example should be followed. After years of growing and trying different things i kinda started to get my intuition on all this together. Guys like Smith and others like Aptus and Canna backed up my intuition and hunches. Like calcium for example. Get your temperatures and humidity (rh & vpd) dialed and with a few left turning amino acids (specific ones- look it up) your plant will uptake more than enough calcium. A full COMPLETE base nutrient profiled correctly should provide. Calmag supplements are WAY OVERUSED. They were meant for blossom end rot for outside tomato growers in the hot summer sun. Thanks to Botanicare, some marketing, misinformation, internet hype calmags are practically seen as essential and there not!!! Back in the early days in what few hobby hydroponic shops there were you didnt really see calmag supplements on the shelves and we grew bomb ass crops. Whats changed? The internet, more uninformed growers, and hype marketing from.an industry ready to cash in on shit you dont need. Do your research, if you want to be a really good cannbis grower. Learn how and why plants act the way they do when you do or dont do something in the garden.
