I agree. I'm not excluding those who dont have licenses. I used to be one of those... i just dont think there is a million of us. But...i am no authority on this or statistics...

All the good vacations u hear about are probably from the people that stay in their resort the entire time.
Thats the safest too but if you leave the resort than you plan to be fleeced even if you have someone to mediate with the roadside bandits lol.
All he will do is negotiate an acceptable toll.
I will never go back thats for sure it hurt to much watching the people outside the resorts living in structures made of aluminum siding and worse.

My buddy goes every few years. Stays at the same gated community each time. Has the same fixer every trip. He shows up at the airport and walks them through customs with all the smuggled meat they bring(Jamaican meat is garbage from what he says). And shows up every morning and stays with them all day. You want anything the fixer has it delivered and you don't waste time trying to find anything. If you want to go anywhere he makes sure you don't go anywhere you shouldn't or put yourself In Any bad situations. Locals are always looking to fleece the tourist and that's why you pay him to be your guide. He knows what roads to avoid because of checkpoints and carjackings ect. I think he charges like $150 us a day so split that between a group of 6-8 is fuck all for the services he provides. Of course that doesn't include the price of the party favors but they aren't expensive anyways.

im with you on that one man. Fuk that place and the people pushing stick weed full of seed. Might as well save the money avoid the begging and buy the governments mine shaft twigs. Jamaica is supposed to have the best growing climate for outdoor but you would never know by the crap they push.
Ive stayed in the resorts and a friend of mine bought a house there either way they wont be getting another tourism dollar out of me. I will never attempt a vacation in another borderline third world country again.

Aruba was nice. Bahamas is nice but still has pushy dealers. Costa Rica rains way to much for my liking. All are very easy to score a few grams in without feeling like you could be murdered. Mexico, Dominican republic and Jamaica all don't interst me for the whole narco/cop war nonsense.
