Trying to understand why the vac oven versus heating a vac chamber
Capacity and convenience. I would not recommend an oven to someone not making oil on the regular.

If you're on a budget and not crunched for time, buy a piece of 1"x12"x12" acrylic(plexi) and a aluminum stock pot to make your own chamber. The bits and pieces can be sourced locally if your in a decent sized city, or use bestvaluevacs parts as they are cheap too. I recommend putting the vac port on the chamber not the lid.

For a vac pump, phone around to your local refrigerative or HVAC supply stores, they will usually be cheaper than online or the same to save on shipping/time. The difference in sizes basically will just effect the time it takes to pull down, go with a smaller one for a single chamber.

MartyG, ive found the quality of skillets vary greatly, do you remember what brand and model you use? Thanks.

Wonder if that's good ordering that from the States. Would customs take note of that I wonder. Dunno ??

That's my concern, having it snagged at customs - I watch too much boarder security on National Geographic !! Plus then you pay duty and customs fees if it does make it over and they never will admit how much that will be until you get the COD bill.
Trying to find a Canadian supplier if possible.

I've heard even using a warm water bath can hurt the Terpenes
Honestly not a concern. The chamer isn't illigal or regulated. It could theoretically get you on a rcmp list but we're all on multiple list anyways so what's one more. As long as you're not getting into the shatter business I wouldn't worry about importing the chamber.

I would recommend getting the larger chamber. you will thank me when your shatter starts muffining and it doesnt touch the top. Also if the border says anything you can claim you are purging resins etc
So true it gets huge!!

They sell a heating pad for it but honestly u don't need it. I just set the chamber on a skillet does fine. I bought a pyrometer and have found the perfect temp. To set the skillet at u don't want it too hot like I don't go over 110f
how long do you apply the heat for? the entire time of the purge or just at the the start or just at the end?

I've seen it come out like space food with out apply any sort of heat, makes it hard to do a dab of dust

Yes the whole purge but very low. I've had it come out like your explaining, but that time I whipped it after purging for 30min, I took it out and whipped it then purged it. It came out crumbly.
