HELP ON CURING PLEASE

Ok so here is the deal, I am growing The Church from Greenhouse Seeds and have harvested the plant. I had 3 in the closet but it got to full and I don't believe the lower buds reached the maturity of the top buds that got more light. The top ones were absolutely perfect, nice red hairs, nice milky amber trichomes. Yet the bottom ones got 50% red hairs and more clear trichomes. I wanted to harvest the top buds and let the bottom develop further, but I had 2 plants in the vegging chamber that couldn't wait another day, they were getting to close to the lights and had to get them in the flower closet immediately so unfortunately the church had to come down....all of it. What I want to know is if these immature buds will "ripen" during the cure, will the trichomes turn milky and will the potency I am looking for be obtained, or are these trash buds? First grow so I didn't know how much the church would stretch, this time around I am only growing 2 plants instead of three, and this time it is Nirvana ICE.

Just because the buds are not as mature as the top buds doesnt mean they are trash.They will not mature once they are cut off the plant.

Will they still get you high? Is the potency close to a mature bud or is it quite less?

Yes you will get high...potency depends on bud

I like to use the lower popcorn buds to make edibles or hash.

Thanks for the info. Not much into edibles or hash, don't really know how. I will probably just mix some of the mature buds in with some of the not so mature ones and put em' on the market. Greenhouse seeds claims over 20% so it should be quite potent. If the lower buds are 10-15% I would be happy. I think I made a mistake by vegging to long and topping, they took over my closet like a jungle, changing water was a son of a bitch getting the buckets out. Anyway, this was my first indoor grow, always been an outdoor grower, got bored this winter and wanted a project, hope the nirvana ice turns out better.

Dry ice hash is super easy and you don't need to use any chemicals. Just need a bubble bag and some dry ice. Takes about 10 minutes including clean up time.

Adding it with the proper bud seems like it will hurt your bag appeal. But I guess if the people you sell to don't care, thats not an issue.

How do you dry your trimmings? Paper bag be ok?

I put them in paper bags or part of a cardboard box. I usually dry em fast with a fan directly on them since it is just going to be made into hash or coconut oil.

Once you cut the plant and hang it, the buds will continue to develop until the stalk is dry. The buds are still gaining nourishment, and will continue to develop. Kinda like a tomato that is half ripe when it is plucked, but a few day's later it will be ripe. The buds if chopped off the plant will not ripen further though.

So do you think the clear trichomes will cloud up during the cure or are they as good as they are going to get? Will the bud become more potent with the cure? I have read that it does but really have no idea.

Don't sweat the clear trics. As long as you have a few milky ones, you are good to go. Dark trics are a sign that the THC is degrading. For couchlock, go for amber, but for a clear high, stay with the 50/50 clear milky. Bud will not necessarily get stonger with time, but will burn better and taste better. My best herb is 3 months old (hardly ever lasts to that point) I hardly ever scope trics anymore, I just go by the hairs. 75% brown/red = done in my book.

Hash is easy to make be it ice or butane extraction give it a try. I use all my little popcorn stuff for that. It all.goes into a trim box that. Usually finds its way to some kind of oil before my harvest is dry and usually smoke some on that until the rest is ready.

You can harvest the tops, and let the bottom nugs get more light and mature for another several weeks in full-sun. Also, the "popcorn" nugs are not worthless, and we use them for cooking (cannabutter, etc) all the time. Peace-

Are they smokeable? I mean, will they still do the trick if you smoke them?
