SoG vs ScrOG?

I end up with full grown colas around 32 inches max , with table , rez & lighting you'd need 7 feet of height to be safe , i had 22 ft high ceilings so height wasnt an issue at all , it actually worked against me durring set up.
In my new personal grow im using the same 3 light per 4 x 8 table flood & drain lighting in a room with 8 ft 2 inch ceing height a have room to spare up top .

Im green as a cucumber about LED why are 99% of manufacturers setting their output at 60% ?
Does it have something to do with lifespan of the unit or bulb life ?

If you drive them harder the efficiency decreases and they burn out more quickly.

It does have to do with the lifespan of the led's. It also has to do with diminishing returns of light intensity vs. current draw. there will also be the point at which you start to produce more heat than light. efficiency has an optimal threshold.

And that's exactly why im still using HID lighting.
The technology is on the cusp and advancements are steady in the making.
If im spending a couple G's on lighting it better be the bees knees for a few years!

soil=sog
It would be a royal ass ache the run a see of green in dwc. Coco would be dope though.
I think a lot of this depends on legislation. (If in coherence with your state laws)
If you are limited by # of plants, it can be beneficial to grow them larger and have fewer girls.
If your limited by sq footage, sog will get you more tops:sq ft.
I say hydro for scrog in reference to you growing dwc. Things seem to grow fast and stretch a little more. Scrog or lst works great.

How long will you veg? If you go straight from clone Half gallon pots would work.
If it were me I would veg for 1-2 weeks and use one gallon pots. Fill your space.
(Id also recommend building a frame with 2X4's and staple pond lining to the outside. That way it catches the water that misses the pots when watering the middle girls.... amd then ya dont need a bunch of runoff containers

The space is not honestly much to look at, it's a CLW Solar Storm 440 (320 actual in bloom mode) in a 2x2x5 tent. So 4 sq ft at 320 watts is 80 watts per sq ft. Here are a couple shots of a girl I have flowering right now.

Temp in that space is a huge plus for that LED I can see. What kind of ventilation you run vs hps?
Is it me or does trich coverage seem a little more abundant with HPS?
Edit: last question was in no way regarding your pics, girls look great!! I've used a KIND for one round and it just didn't do it for me. I chalked it up to being better versed with hps, but still my only experience suggests it.

I definitely have found that I get more trichome production with LED than I did with hps. There are a few noticeable differences from my experience. Plants under led like a bit higher temps, seem to need more of certain nutes ( calcium and magnesium in particular) and don't seem dry out as fast as with an hid. Density is as good or better than it was with hps but I found that there was more need for side lighting unless you're doing sog or scrog

Oh yeah.. 4" active air fan with a carbon scrubber. Run it at about % 60 power.

Thats why i stuck with hps .
Ive been thinking of investigating LED now that im not running a monster op any longer .
After some research this spring i might pop up a quick 2 x 4 table & do a small LED grow sog to compare weights & harvest times directly against the 4 x 8 table with hps .
Its just a few hundred bucks in lighting so if it dont work out i wont be out shit , outta be fun to play with though , i'd like to mess around with a few plasma lights too but they are priced too high for just experimenting .

Alright, if I go soil ill take this into concideration.
I will be starting from seed so i assume ill need to veg a mother for a while until sexually mature then take clones and clone them for 1-2 weeks then move them into flower. I have herd that some people dont veg or barley veg plants on SoG

Greengenes has conducted a pretty good at600 led vs the best 1000w bulb on the market test with blue dream. Overall hps yielded more however the led looked better , tasted better , and tested higher thc% wise at the lab according to greengenes if I remember correctly . Hps didn't yoekd that much more given it was 250 watts less power. I'm 900$ away from ordering my at600 ! Ugh cannot wait
