AutoFlower in FFOF...too hot?

Is Fox Farms Ocean Forest too hot of a soil for Autoflower plants?
Should I mix it with Happy Frog or...?

I have some Root Riot Starter plugs that I will embed in the 3gal Smart Pot soil as a home for the newly sprouted seeds since autos don't like to be transplanted.

I'm a NooB...well it's been over 20 years since my last grow...lol.

Depends on the strain. All autos tend to be sensitive, but some are wirse than others. What I did was a 50/50 ffof and happy frog with a pocket of frog only in the center (about the size of a solo cup but a little deeper) for the seedling to start in. Seems to work well.

Nice. The Happy Frog tones it down...correct?

I've grown many different strains over many years ...all in FFOF from start to finish and never burned a plant and never had any problem. Just remember to NOT give any nutes for the first 3-4 weeks. Lots of people say FFOF is too "hot". I disagree

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hmm. I am just finishing a 2 strain auto grow and I mixed the ffof with frog and it was still a little hot.

I'm thinking of going starter pocket of frog an going straight ffof for the rest. I really only had problems with the soil being hot in the early stages.

I have grown autos just fine in ocean forest mixed with 30 percent perlite. Lately I prefer happy frog as it has less wood chips in it!
