I planted these beans 2 days before your germed yours (by that I mean I stuck the beans in the soil). They are growing under a 48W T5 - temps are great, lights close.... look only 2-4 inches from the tops and no burn. and yes I have my cuttings right next to them- total of 100W of lighting, 0 watts of fan running, and I think the pics speak for it. Less can be much more, my friend,
The cost of building this box AND the lights will be about the same or less than your electric bill for running what your running in there would be for one month....

I'm actually wanting to build a box or something of some sort to veg separately as well.
I'm not sure what I would buy from home depot for fixtures and bulbs? How many would I need for 15 solo cups to veg for 4 weeks

For how much money you'll spend in fixtures and bulbs at Home Depot you could just order a few t5 fixtures off htg supply.com. I think a 5x5 enclosure with 250-300 watts of white light would be plenty for your needs for one month of veg. Order yourself some a51 w100s

Wouldn't I be better off just getting small tent and a 300w or 400w light?

I thought I read you want to build your veg enclosure. What 3 or 400 watt light you talking about getting? You just don't need much light for veg. I think it'll be better on electricity and temperature with some cool light fixtures or some led depending on how much $ you want to spend

The lumber you get depends on your space and how you are going to be using it (where your electrical outlets are etc). But if you are going to flower under a 1000W HPS, I would recommend getting (x2) 4 foot T5 fixtures like this one- https://www.hydrofarm.com/p/FLP44 They daisy chain together, and you can choose to only run half the lights at a time if you want. I am actually using the model in the link in my grow. Use those two T5 fixtures to light a 5x5 space, I have 3 ft plants veggining under them currently, so you can practically veg as long as you need/want under them- granted I am also using cross spreads to cover density loss.

If you look at the bottom of my post (in my signature) there is a link to my journal. You can see how I am building up and around plants that I have going.

Here is the one that I use for my cuttings and seedlings, it is a 2ft T5 system that I have been extremely happy with, used for many grows and still going strong.

But that is all they are good for- early veg. Growing is more broken up into three broad stages of growth, early veg (seedlings/cuttings), mature veg (sexed adult plants), and flowering. just to keep it simple.

the 4 ft system the bulbs are a tiny bit closer together, and running higher wattage have higher output (it is actually more than on the box because you can keep plants closer).

So I have lights in 3 stages for mine. The equipment you get and how you use it depends entirely on your circumstances. think there are about 5-6 ballasts around not in use because they arent needed....

There are also other fixtures on the site, 4' 4 bulbs also. I have a 2x4 tent for veg with 2 a51 w100s. I use this for 4 plants which veg for one month then transfer to a 4x4 tent. I haven't used it yet but plenty for my needs( 4 RDWC plants)

give them a good watering and then transplant after they dry out again. and by good watering I mean, a good soak, I am not sure how well your soil has been absorbing the water, once it drys out a bit too much it actually can repel water (peat).

Also, 10% RH , that's no good my friend, you coulda started them under a humidity done with flaps all open and gotten faster healthier results. if you don't want to mess with your fans much or anything like that.... go soak some bath towels and lay them in the tray with your babies- what size pot you thinking to transplant into?

today for me.... mine get watered tomorrow morning, only needing water every two to four days. they get plenty of fresh air, and temps are regulated by the open flap in the front of the box. Hopefully mine will be transplanted when their pots dry out again after that as well. 50W

Well when I watered last I gave them a good watering..I kind of want to transplant them as the dirt in each cup is down a couple inches..4 days ago I cut a hole in a cup and seen a root or two so they are probably ready by tm night I would think ?

Every time you water them.... you should be giving them around 25-30% of the volume of the container. You want water to soak all the way into the soil, and through it. If you don't water it thoroughly and evenly, then your plants wont grow roots in the parts that are not wet. The idea is that as they draw moisture from the areas close to them, they send off fresh shoots to gather moisture from where it is sensed by the roots.

no, you want them to be well established but not root bound when you transplant. Those are not well established. in my post above I am quoting your watering method, and explaining why it wasn't working. Also explained how it does work well. Your plants want to have a bunch of roots all over sticking out before you transplant, and you would also want stronger stems too.

The containers that I have mine in are just a hair, a tiny bit larger than those cups. half filling the cups, idk why you did that, but you can see i filled mine good and soaked them good (darkness of my soil). Mine are what, two days older from when i put the seeds in the soil and watered them, and I am not until they dry out again. Patients pays.

Oh really ? I was just kinda making a nice puddle and guessing lol..is there a formula? How much will I give each 3 gal pot ? Or do I water til it comes out the bottom?

Water it untill all of the soil has gotten wet. And almost completely dries out again before watering. A lot of water will probably come out the bottom to saturate a 3 gallon pot. I do hydro but I would agree those plants need anther couple sets of leaves kr really start to thrive before transplanting. I bet it would take another several weeks before those solo cups become root bound.
