Please God, let this be a girl! Flower time?

i've fallen in love with this gorgeous plant, and it would really suck if i had to kill it because it grew testicles. lol no seriously, that would suck. i think i would just keep it as a house plant. this is my first time growing with any lights. i grew a pretty little girl last year on my balcony, but only had about 3 hours of direct sunlight. it still grew some lovely buds. i'm digressing.
do you experts think it is time to find out the sex of this plant or is it too soon? i think "she's" about 25 days old. the first little baby picture was taken 18 days ago. the others were taken today. i'm going as cheap as you possibly can. 2 cfl (150watts, about 5200 lumens combined). just using the cheap $9 bulbs from home deopt, and those $10 light fixtures with the clips at the end. as of yesterday, i'm now using 3 cfls. (7900 lumens total). for 3 hours i take "her" out on the balcony to get her sun grove on.
anyway, check out her pics and tell me what you think. she's pretty cute right? "luck be a lady tonight..."
so nervous!

i say flower her. i'm flowering one at only 5 in. tall (as per the See More Buds for Less book). just be religious about your timing; I messed up once on my last girl and she grew balls on lower branches. I cut them off and haven't seen any since, but whew, it was a bummer!

thank you for you input. i read one post here that said i should leave it in darkness for 36 hours before switching to 12/12. is that the general rule? and does darkness mean total darkness, or will the light from a tv be too bright? i'm growing right in my living room. i'll cover it, but do i have to get all anal about it? if so, not a problem, i'll find a way.

Pull a clone, one its rooted toss that mother plant into flower. If its a girl, you got another one to go in when that one gets chopped. If its a boy, not much lost.

i completely agree with this statement, its exactly what i do when i have to start from seed, however i would clone 2.. good advice bbb...

Thats what I *was* gonna do, but the mother got too big, so I tossed the clone(s) into flower. But momma had already showed sex.

here is what i do exactly when i start from seed

i have a 25 site cloner, so i plant 12-15 seeds hoping 12 germinate (usually does)..

when the plants get big enough i clone 2 from each..

then when the sex show, i toss the males and corrosponding clones (i label each clone from the plant taken)...

then i have 2 15 site bloom stations and 2 15 site veg stations.. works perfect....

but i have to say, i hate growing from seed, i'm not a soil guy at all and i run into more problems during the seedling stage than i do at any other growth stage...

thanks bbb & flip, that makes great sense. i will go read the FAQ and see if it gives instructions on how and where to cut a clone. i'd hate to fuck it up. should i water with just water a couple of days before switching to the flowering additive?

i read about the 36 hours before 12/12 thing in Jorge's bible and i'm trying it as we speak. I'll know if it made a diff. in a couple of weeks.

Rep to you! That is the absolute best advice you can give as far as I am concerned. I always take the first 2 clones from every plant I grow and make clones. I am currently doing a perpetual grow using White Widow...Afghan and Mango. I am going to be adding AK47 to the mix soon. Learning how to clone was the best thing I ever learned as far as growing. Good advice BBB.

do you be any chance know where to cut a clone from? and how much do you cut off?

I had a nasty time at cloning at first.

Get rubbing alky, a razor blade (new) a cup of water, rooting powder/gel/liquid (I *love* vita grow liquid) and your medium (rockwool, rapidrooters, etc)

Clean the blade or sissors with the alky.

What you want to do is pick a lower branch.

Count down a few nodes and cut about 1/4 inc /6mm below that node at a 45 degree (I think straight across the plant, then angle cut the cutting might be best. but i dunno)

As soon as its cut stuff the cut end into the water. Can even let the whole thing just wallow in there for a while. You just do not want the stem to suck up air.

Prepare what you are going to put them into rockwool, etc.

Pick out cutting and dip the end into the rooting stuff and then into medium.

Trim the larger leaves to about 1.5-2 inch round.

Put under a humidity dome, keep warm and moist, not wet.

Once roots show and have some length, pop into final medium.

Me? I just use the Vita Grow and Rapid Rooter plugs, no dome and keep the plugs in about 1/4 inch of water in my veg room. With that I'm @100% (about 15 for 15)

(no killer lights, just floro/CFLs or MH far away)

Smaller cutting root faster. Just need a couple/few nodes.

(sorry for rambling)
