Damn Hy, you got wax on the daily. Not sure if you posted it somewhere already, but I'm curious to know what the process of making ice wax looks like. You mind either directing me to the info either here or some good instructions on the web?

I use a mini washing machine. And a 200µ work bag (bubble bags) inside the washing machine. A layer of ice then bag the ice then water. Of course its RO water and ice (make myself). You can get ice cube trays 2 for a dollar at the dollar store , 99¢ store or dollar tree.

I use the 8 bag bubblebag kit. All 8 bags in a bome depot 5 gal bucket.

I prefer fresh frozen trim. I do work with dry trim too. With dry trim let it soak for 10 min first. Then run washer. or mix.by hand with a wooden spoon. Do not use a drill. You want to be gentle. Too much agitation will lower quality and you will get plant matter in there.

I wash for 3-4 min. Then drain right away. Then I pour another gallon of water through and drain instantly.

now with a pump sprayer filled with cold RO water. I take one bag at a time. Put one bag in the bucket. Pull the sides down to make the screen tight and spray the trichomes to clean them. Removing and microscopic plant matter and chlorophyl. Then scoop up the patty with a spoon. ( also I keep all tools in the freezer to keep cold). Place patty on a blotting screw that comes with the bags. The screen sits on towel absorbing moisture.

I let the patty dry for 12-24 hours. Then freeze patties for an hour or 2. Then I use a microplane rasp grater (zester) . Grate the patty over raw parchment paper. (paper on a baking sheet). Then let the grated trichomes dry completely at the lowest temp. Below 55 degrees and low humidity if possible. 3-7 days. Then jar up and cure at cold temp Then what ever I smoke for the day. I put in a small jar and keep it in my pocket all day and hold the container in my hands. Pocket curing helps the wax melt on itself.

I posted pics on how to press to dab a couple pages back.

also each wash do not reuse water. Add new water and more ice each wash. Rinse bags between each wash. After each batch clean the bags with rubbing alcohol. Run alcohol / water 1:1 through the washer to clean it. I also run peroxide through it too. You don't want any mold.

my method is a mix of.matt rize, Nikka T, and Frenchy canolli methods. Matt rize has a how to.thread in the concentrate section. Frenchy has a thread in subcools subsection of the organic section.

also sometimes depending on strain I sieve through a mesh ladle instead of microplaning. I also sieve before I jar it up too.

ill post pics of each step tomorrow. I have to do some laundry today wink wink.

bubble bags and 5 gal home depot bucket not pictured

I already filled the washing machine. A layer of ice, the 200µ work bag with material in it, then another layer of ice. Equal amount of water as ice

WP_20150124_22_45_48_Pro.jpg

Run for 3-4 min. and drain then pour another gallon of water through while draining

after draining each bag. I place each bag in the sink to finish draining any excess water while I clean the resins. Then throw the water in my resi. Don't waste!

Now I clean the resins one bag at a time using the pump sprayer filled with cold RO water. Pulling the sides down tightening the screen the spray and repeat.

I keep my tools in the freezer to stay cold so nothing warm touches the hash patty

WP_20150125_00_37_28_Pro.jpg

Then I scoop up with a cold spoon and place om the blotting screen. Keeping each screen separate/ This is from first wash

WP_20150125_01_02_26_Pro.jpg

then dry for 12- 24 hours. Then place in freezer for 1- 2 hours
WP_20150125_23_22_27_Pro.jpg

Then pull out and microplane each patty over parchment paper on a baking sheet. Again keeping each screen separate

45µ

73µ

120µ

The dry at low temps for 4-7 days. Then sieve and jar up. I'll post those pics in a week.

@hyroot good job on the hash tutorial. I dont mind making bubble but the work to make the ice wax is too much. Maybe when I am retired I will need this tech though. I hope to make a lot of hash when I am retired.. LOL.

BTW made some QWISO from all the larf bud in the cmh harvest. did a very minimal extraction time of 30sec total. It tastes like hash. usually the oils dont but holy cow every hit is full on hashish. very blonde extraction. Ill try to keep you a dab to try ;-)

Did you get your slime figured out? I have just been changine the cloner water every three days or so now. I figure it takes that long for the chlorine to dissipate then it gets slime. I only had trouble when not changing the rez out often.

I have been having cell phone issues again, My battery stopped working. I tried multiple chargers, outlets houses, etc... and nothing. I drove all over trying to get a new battery today. No one had the right one. I didn't want to wait forever ordering one. My mom said to put the batter in the freezer. I laughed and said that's a myth. Once the cells are dead they're dead. I put the battery in the freezer and after 20 min the battery worked. I put it back in the freezer just to make sure I get a full day charge. My point is that freezer shit is no myth. It really works. Now the cells may not have been completely depleted. Maybe the battery was overheated or something, I don't know. Either way putting it in the freezer made it work again.
