Hey whats up guys...i was wondering..I plan on starting a grow..I have a 8×4×8 tent..for 10 plants, a 8inch carbor filter and fan..and I wanna use at least a 400 watt hps/mh hood light and a 600 watt hps/mh hood light..in one room growing all autos..will that run up my bill to bad for suspicion!! Or should I plug one light in that room, and run a cord and plug the other light in a different room..I have nothing in my living room..so they could think that's it's a TV setup and computer or what not..plus I'm gonna switch all my regular lights to low cfl...am I good with that!!! Need some good advice. .and last..how much u think I can yield per auto under 1000 watt...soil and co2 grow?

Keep in mind that your average cheap space heater consumes 1500watts and it's the middle of winter. I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you replace all your incandescent with CFL's that's good for a few hundred watts of power savings. I save 1kw by going to LED and halogen bulbs.

So would it be better to use a 400 watt and a 600 watt and plug one in that room and run the other to a diff room...or could I plug them in the same room...it's a 15 amp breaker and the only thing that would be plugged in would be a 8 inch carbon fan prolly a small fan to circulate air and the 2 lights that would equal 1000 watts?

Do you rent or own? your meter, no problem (you are pushing the circuitry) your landlords meter. Your doomed

I'm in a apartment complex..no landlord that comes and checks on me or anything...but it's a 2 bedroom..and I have nothing in my living room and I only use one of the rooms?

You have to test the circuits. If the areas were wired correctly, meaning 1 circuit per room, If you have 1-15 amp circuit ONLY for your lights as is, plus a fan, you are good, but no more on that circuit, like even a computer.

Ok perfect, I was gonna plug them into a surge protector as well...and is it true I could yield up to a pound with 10 autos..

Don't worry about it. I live in an apartment and I'm running 3100 true watts of led's. Just pay your bill and no worries, unless you live in a place where it's not medical it wouldn't make a difference.

This, double check to make sure that the circuits aren't split between rooms. That's pretty typical for older homes. Be sure not to exceed an 80% load on each circuit. For a 15 amp breaker, this would be 12 amps. You could always replace it with a 20amp breaker and get 16 amps, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Also, make sure everything is properly grounded.

Alright, Thanks man..that helps alot...also...will a 8 in carbon filter fan get the stink out for 10 plants...and I'm using a tent inside the room that Has cooling rubes so the heat and the filter fan will just exhaust out into the room..is that cool

So, you have your own meter. No problem. You should have a circuit in each room, so 1000w will not be a problem, at all. You probably have your own panel, so that will tell you what is up. Turn off breakers 1 by 1 and see what goes out. Hopefully one will do a room, then you are good to go in that room, and just use those outlets for your power. The charcoal filter (which you will need) will not draw enough power to worry about.

Well if you have the budget, I'd recommend 3 315 ceramic metal halides rather than a single 1kw bulb. The sunsystem LEC would be great, albeit expensive option, but it has a top of the line reflector as well. You can also just get bulbs/ballasts from advanced tech lighting and grab some small parabolic reflectors for much less.

I see...IL consider that..but if I don't would it be better to have 1 1000 watt light in the middle or 400 on one side and 600 on the other

What room you plug in doesn't matter, as far as your power company is concerned you have only one circuit at 100 or 200 amps. They have no way of determining how power I'd divided between your breakers. As far as individual circuit limits, unless I knew what king of wire is actually used in the circuit, I would push a 15A past 10 amps, but that's probably a result of seeing a few electrical fires. You might as well split you lights if its not too much hassle. Just pay you bill regularly and 1000w (10amps) will "never" be an issue.

Ok, perfect...that's what il do....also..for autos what should be the best light schedule..18/6 or 20/4 or will it not be a big deal if I leave them on 24-7...tryna get the best yield as possible
