can someone just answer the question below?

I have a 4x3x7 tent. I will be using 600 watt hps with a blockbutster air cooled hood 6"

I want to use a vortex s-line 6" fan rated at 347cfm with speed control with a phat filter rated at 275cfm.

With all that said, is that a good setup?ill it work?

If not.... should I go for a bigger filter or bigger fan? if so at what cfm for fan and cfm for filter should I look for?

Get a filter that is rated just higher than the fan. That is the standard.
This way, If you run the fan at full speed, it'll work well/control smell.
If you run fan at slower speed, it will also work well.

okay.

I found a 375 cfm or a 450 cfm rated filter... Which one would be the beneficial one to go with since the fan is 347 cfm?

I have dam near the same set up with that 6" vortex s-line fan (quiet and works good ) with a 4x4x7 tent and 6"x16" 400cfm phresh carbon filter , 600 watt hps with an air cooled hood. No problems with smell or temps and it doesn't have to be on full blast

I do 440CFM across the board in a 2x4x5' tent for flower, and it'll suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

That'll be more than adequate for your space, with consideration if you want to go bigger later.

well thanks to all of you guys!!!

Kalikid- glad you chimed in since you have the same setup!!!

What hood you using? also what 600 watt hps bulb you using? I am deciding on either going with MH bulb or t5 lighting.

Im using a brand called ushio for the 600 watt hps I'm going for hortilux next , my hood is a hydrofarm radiant 6" but I'm looking into a blockbuster or a raptor hood for better light spread. You can get quality with MH or T5 but HPS is known to give more weight

My filter is rated for 110 CFM more than my fan, just to be safe. Your setup sounds a lot like mine, except I have a 4x4 tent, bigger filter and 1000w light @ 75%.

I have no heat issues (tent is around 5 degrees higher than ambient).

Yea u wanna pull from the filter.....then push the clean air out...... Get more CFM's that way that's all. Hps is good for flowering but will give longer internode lengths during veg, so go from a MH to a Hps. And the dual arc isn't as good as using both.....so just get the extra bulb, being sure your ballast is up for it....l

Yea negative pressure is what your going for, that is more air going out than in, your gonna need air in so be sure to have at least twice as much going out, if not more.....I run a 600 and a 400 and have 2 fans going out and a few oscillating ones going on inside the room, it seems to be great airflow and circulation. Those darn green fans are so loud. Anyone know what the best, quietest fan is?

The more air out the better, negative pressure..... It's the goal. So maybe get a better or bigger fan.... Or another one. Def ant hurt unless worried about being too cold.....

What is the best rated cfm and most quiet fan?
The hurricane any good
. The cam fan is good and the max fan as well, wonder which is most quiet and efficient?

My exhaust port is about a foot away from the tent so its removing heat really fast so no need for a bigger fan ,like i said i don't even have it on full blast because it will keep my room too cold. My air out runs at 75% and air in at 50% so I do have a negative pressure going on. Im fortunate to have intake and exhaust ports so close to my tent so Im able to not be on full blast.

try a search on vortex s-line fan , and hyper fan . Im using both and it is way more quite then the old ones, kinda pricey but if noise is a security issue like it was for me then its worth it!
