First grow with CFL - Need help

Hi, the plant is in the vegetative stage and the bottom leaf is yellow and the plant is drooping a litle, I'm a bit worried.

Is the bottom leaf turning yelloow because leaves above it cast a shadow on it? [or a nutritient deficiency?]

Drooping is caused by under/over watering I guess?

I'm getting a humidifier soon, the box has low humidity levels, I hope this will make it so the leaves can absorb moisture from the air and stop drooping.

You need to pick up a dry flower pot and notice the weight
Now that little plant needs only a little bit of ph6.5 water each couple of days
Start over bye up potting to a bigger size pot and let the soil be moist and flooded.
try not to go over 400ppm in veg with your grow nute

At the start of her life she only wants small drinks.

Same as the smaller plant there
Both are over watered and are drowning because a cfl will not provide the light needed to eat all that water.
re pot and use the grow nutes low dose on what ever you use,cause the lighting is not the right light to grow under.
Can you change the light to MH LED for us?250w

I've got 3 CFL lights and they produce a total of 10 000 lumen, so that should be enough light provided to the plant for it to suck up that water, sometimes the soil is pretty dry.
I would like to get even more opinions, because i don't have the money to spend on a new light. Pots aren't expensive so that's fine.
Thanks again for helping out, I just want additional opinions before making changes/purchasing equipment.

I opted for CFL because LED's are expensive and HP lamps produce too much heat for my small box (and i can't invest in a cooling system because that's not stealthy at all).
So all things considered i'm sticking to the CFL's. I'm aiming for 30gr [=1oz] dried harvest per plant.

Overwatering definitely causes limp leaves.Do you have adequate air flow?What are the temps?What kind of water,tap,spring,ro?
Try to maneuver your lights so they are horizontal,the most light emits from the sides of the bulbs.If you add a couple more bulbs when flowering starts an ounce of bud is totally doable.Good luck and welcome to riu.

No, no, no. No humidifier. Think of Afghanistan, that's where good pot grows. Not the Amazon.

What is the temperature of the grow area?

And a fan. you need to keep the air circulating. And you need fresh air. It is like juggling, keep the air moving and keeping the temp in the right range.

Your big plant has outgrown its pot. The yellowing leaves are a lack of nitrogen. Best if you go to a bigger pot. Or you can go all fancy and continue grow in a small pot feeding lots of nutrients. I'm not all fancy, I say go with a bigger pot.

I don't see a timer?

I love growing with CFLs. Cheap and pretty safe. And safety is my main concern. Do you have a surge protector or two? They're cheap and they can stop you from making a bad mistake.

Also, get that book that is mentioned first on the forum, the CFL grow book by Seymour Buds. My favorite book of all time!

One last thing- Is that as big a grow area you are going to use? Because you'll be needing to switch to flower, as you'll be running out of room very soon.

I have 2 fans (see pictures) so airflow shouldn't be a problem the temp is around 25-27°C [=77-81°F] I use tap water [I ordered a ph meter but it hasn't been shipped yet :C, so ph should be about 7 just neutral, a bit less is better I have read on the internet like 6.5?] .

Maneuvering the bulbs is something I will try / look further into thanks

I will certainly have a look at that book you mentioned.
Going for a bigger pot is a good idea, and yes that is the final grow area (I didn't make it bigger for stealth, stealth is a BIG issue for me)
I read somewhere that you should go into flowering when your plant has half the desired length [As it doubles in size while in the flowering stage]. As you can see in the picture I used shoe boxes to put my plants closer to the light bulbs.

Another thing, do I need perlite or sand mixed with my soil?

I was going to say that about the chlorine.

As far as air exchange, I think as long as the temperature is right, the air exchange is good. At least with CFLs.

I did not let it set for 24 hours :/
For airflow; The grow box is close to the window and I leave the window open 24/7 So I think that shouldn't be a problem.

Yes definitely mix perlite at about a half perlite and half soil ratio for young plants and more soil (2:1) to transplant to.....lol...I reread this I hope I'm making sense,I got a good wake and bake going

I say use soil as is, because they make it to be good. Bi66er says different. That's what makes growing such an art. Does your soil have a name?
