Outdoorsman question

Hello! So my question is kind of broad but as an extremely new member of rollitup I hope you do excuse my "newbieness"
My question is how should I go about preparing the soil in a climate where red clay is the predominant median. Plus it would be in a creek setting where water would be easily accessible.
Could I just dig a hole and fill it with Fox farm soil? I'm completely new to out door growing so I'm trying to learn as much as possible in the cold season so any help is much appreciated.

Your gonna have to dig a hole about a foot deep but 3 feet in diameter, not too deep though. The roots will have an issue burrowing into the hard clay so they will just grow outwards. Make sure you fill the hole with a decent soil mixture and you'll be fine. The good thing is clay holds moisture well and the roots that do make it into the clay will provide the plat with plentiful water even in a slight drought.

It's illegal to water cannabis from waterways without a permit As well as it being illegal in most Places to grow outdoors

You can also bury pots in the ground. I actually found someone's old growspot. Guy had 5 gallon buckets spraypainted green. Bottoms busted out and checken wire on The bottom. Pots were filled with dark ass potting soil, perlite etc. Hadn't been used in years and there were wild plants growing in them. One even had a small sapling of some sort.
