Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, are all Abrahamic faiths.

Abraham was a nomatic Jew, but the Muslims say that Abraham was the first Muslim.

Abraham had two sons. Abrahams first son was with a slave girl, and Abraham later told her to leave his village, because he also had a newer child with his real wife- Sarah.

So, Abrahams first son became the Muslims decent.

Abrahams second son became the Jewish decent.

And as we all know, the Christians believe in the Old Testament, like the Jews believe, so that is why the Christians believe in Abraham.

thank you, george....i'm talking before that..there was 1 and only 1 which translated down..who did it come from?..who wrote abraham?

I believe Moses wrote the story of Abraham in the Old Testament... or thats what the scholars say.

And, in the Quran, the Angel Gabriel allegedly told Muhammad the story about Abraham. But Muhammad was illeterate, so he told other people what Gabriel told him, and later, Muhammads followers wrote the Quran... from what I understand.

And all of these three faiths all believe in "father" Abraham.

The purpose of "humankind", in My opinion, is to colonize the cosmos.

I am sure that in the distant future, we will first colonize the moon, and then Mars, and so on: until we move out of our solar system, and onto new (uninhabited) planets in the galaxy.

My question is why do people need religion to be good people? Do we really need to be threatened by fictional characters to do the right things in life?

I don't need religion to be a good person, but I choose the Christian faith as it give's me great comfort and I'm not afraid to die because I believe in the after life, and that I will meet my lost loved ones again. My three brothers choose not to believe and I respect that, in fact I respect all religions except when they kill and mame innocent people and claim it is what their religion wants, if that makes sense.
