Full CFL Grow - Thoughts?

Hey guys, I just got finished building this light with my buddy. I saw how great his clones were doing under 3 60watt CFLS so we built a large 8 site light for 8 CFL's. The lights are 100watt equivalent to 23 watts and put out 1500 lumens and are bright white.

Anyone out there ever do a grow like this with around 7 or 8 CFL's? Wondering what the yield could possibly be.

The light in the picture only has 3 bulbs in it atm, i have 2 NYCDiesel clones and a mango kush seedling, they about 1 week in.

So will I get a good yield? or do i need to go get a 400watt hps to see those zips?

you can get them at lowes for $10 a bulb i mean if your gonna do it do it right huh?

i would also recommend scrog method

i use that many on top.. but when flowering time comes, put some more up around the plant for higher yeild,, and yes you will get a decent yeild from cfl's dispite what people say.. for proof look around this site there are may people having gteat harvests with cfl's

Why does everyone use those low intensity 23 watt cfl's? I just had a guy leave a comment on my thread(sorry to sidetrack, but the thought just occurred to me) insulting me because I am growing my seedling under one 65 watt cfl which has a lumen output around 5000 lumens. does nobody know that lumens do not add up? if you had thirty 23 watt cfl's they would still only have an output around 1800 lumens, there is just MORE of the low intensity light. therefore, the only way to increase light intensity is to buy a high intensity bulb. im not saying 65 watt cfl is that intense, but its three times the intensity of a 23 watt... anyway rant over.

i used 12 27 watt 1800 lumens in this box and got this day 51

but what the dankness said is exactly correct, its just some people dont have the room and patience for those beastly bulbs, and tthe 27 watts around here are 6 bucks for 3, amazing deal compared to 15.99 for one 65 watt? simple economics for me but i would rather use 125 watts of all things, but dankness is correct in saying the 27 have NO intensity at all compared

how large in sq feet or w/e is your room? is it a cab grow or closet or what? cause if its anything like mine and you have 16 you are good to go, just make sure you have the right K rating for veg and flowering, and 12 on top is good, but i use 4 on top (28 watt 1800 lumens each) and like 8 around the sides of my box, my biggest suggestion is construct you're box in a way that you can manuevre and relocate/twist etc the lights as with cfls they always have to be CLOSE, but not too close so its really a bitch, but i found that they do flower real nice, i had trouble in veg but thats because i had time( shouldnt have wasted it but oh well) and used all the 5500k CFLs throughout the veg, its quite obvious they work pretty well, i hope to yield a qp dried? hopefully

this is my first grow tho, and yea my box is CRAZY makeshift compared to some of the ninja stealth shit i've seen around the forums, but fuck looks i go for production efficiency,

another thing i suggest is getting actual mylar, i got it halfway throughout the whole life of the plant and REALLY noticed how much it reamplifies cfl light intensity, its DEFINATELY worth the money (at least 1-2 $ a foot on rolls 3 feet wide)

the box that i intend to grow in is 3 ft high 2 ft wide and 2 ft long.. i have everything set up except lights now tho i want to know if i need more before hand so i won't need to spend 2 much time taking the sockets down and putting them back up again i would like to know if i have enough light 1st.. and yes i can get the right spectrum for veg and flower. and i already have a reflective surface so that i maximize my light
