Ill be honest with ya, I really dont care about the $100 bux but Ill help ya out if youre looking from somthing decent to work with, remember we do not know much about you and I am assuming you have knowledge of growing. With this said, I would simply say SCREW the veg process, SEA OF GREEN!!!! Utilize both tents for flower and put 2 mothers in the the closet, they wont smell for shit. You can even use flouros on them to keep the heat down as well as the bill.

Ok so you have your equipment here, I personally would go with a simple nutrient when growing more than 10 plants. Dutchmaster Gold is a 2 part solution for flower and veg, so a total of 4 parts. But if you eliminate veg you only using 2. The DM Gold is around $150 for the larger 1gallon containers. This is what I would suggest. Next is your water supply..... TAP water sucks and buying distilled can get expensive, here is my solution.

Your Total = $3378

Now if you do some shopping around for your lighting, you can bring that price down a bit. Also if your spending this kind of money for an elite setup you should be able to fork out an extra $400, and if you use my idea that will save you another $100 so to say since you want have to pay me anyway. Now I shopped on one site just to give you an idea, you can use multiple. Try OpenDNS for some refurbished ballast kits if you are trying to cheapen up the price, otherwise, buy new ones.

The reason I put 2 600w in each is to up your yeild, and cover your square footage without losing lumens to your plants, I can achieve great results with 2 600w rather than 1 1000w. I dont know your situation but this would only cost me roughly $100 per month.
Also sea of green eliminates those light fluffy leafy buds that grow on the lower end of the plant where the light doesn't reach as well. SoG will give you 100% dense and heavy nugs. If you are looking to profit, this is how to do it.

I wish you the best of luck, and remember to always maintain a clean room and equipment. Your setup should be cleaned after each cycle.

Also if you would like to eliminate some cash from the tab, grow in dirt.... Grow bags are small enough to SoG in and are fairly cheap, if you use ProMix as well as hydro nutrient you can achieve the same quality and speed. You will only want to mix in 1/3 of the reccomended dosage when doing this. Make sure to lay somthing down to protect the floor as well.

Great post. I really appreciate it. My question for you is this: is going hydroponic really better? While I do know quite a bit about growing in soil, I know very little about doing so hydroponically. Is it easier? Is it easy to learn? Will the yield be higher?

I am also curious as to how many plants you think should go in that kind of space using your SoG method. I am not opposed to this, but am wondering whether putting clones directly into flowering will really yield more than vegging for 3-4 weeks, having big yields per plant but less plants. I know this is a loaded question/argument but I'm wondering your thoughts.

ok well I guess we can break it down per square foot.

lets just say one plant takes up 1 square foot after vegging. 60 - 65 days of flower will result in anywhere from 2 - 3 oz dry in a total of 3 months. NO CO2

If you take that same square foot, and pack 5 clones in the same pot, 1 in each corner and 1 in the center and go directly into flower, you can get up to 5 oz per square foot faster than the average bear. lollipopping will help keep the plant in check as far as it getting bushy in case it does. Now assuming youre not a growing pro. you should still be able to get your 2 - 3 oz from all 5 and still doing it in a shorter amount of time. This is why SoG is the highest yeilding, and fastest for commercial growers.

Now hydro vs soil is a argument that many pple have here on RIU. I personally have done both. Where Soil can be easier to maintain, it is very unforgiving when it comes to plant problems, as where hydro you can simply flush and keep your medium fresh. There are rules to follow on both ends and learning them is key to harvesting a large crop.
I have seen better quality from my hydro than I have on my soil, but on the other hand, Hydro is what i am best at. Soil is what I use when I run out of space in my hydro setup. Promix(soiless mix) is the best, use it with hydro nutes and you can get some damn good pot if not using a hydro system.

Using the 30 pot setup, Id go with 15 in each tent, do more if you can, but thats reasonable. Also, Id do some experimenting with how much you can grow in each, put 2 in one, 3 in another and so on until think you have reached your limit, grow it and see how it comes out, you can always prune to save space. I would rather have too many and have to kill 1 or 2 than not have enough and wish i did.

Thanks for that, I really like the idea. I like the 6 pot thing alot. However, this space is about 12 x 6 and harvests 18 plants every 2 months (approx.). I say however only because Thunderlips' idea uses an 8 x 8 space to get about 32 plants every 1 month. And while they would be substantially smaller than yours, they might produce a little more. But actually I don't know. Both really good ideas.

Apparently I misread your post. I thought you said that you only had 12 x 6 space to use. So these tents should be fine. If you get the money, you can fit 7 of the aero systems in each tent- 1 in the middle and 6 around it. But that might be a bit too much.

In my state that's presumptive prison time. No offense though, I wish you luck. But have a plan B.

Seriously though if you are smart you will get the omega garden raise a crop, buy another, raise a crop, get another 1 or 2, I bet you max the apartment out at 4-6 units, more than that and I would worry about exceeding 80% of 15 amps per branch circuit.

The omega garden is hands down the BEST plants per square foot ratio you are going to find. Works perfect for SOG grow / commercial growing.

Last but not least WTF are you thinking doing this in an apartment. I don't know the details but in general that is a bad idea.... I am doing it also but I can probably hide mine in the 24 hour notice I get. When I lived in a decent apartment the landlords came through about 1 time every 2-3 months. They made excuses to come into everyones place bug control, fire alarm check, etc.. etc.. insurance actually requires this in most areas to specifically check for grow ops. Now I live in a true ghetto and they don't come by and I installed a locking door on the grow room.

I just hope you guys have thought this through, going commercial to any degree is a whole lot more risky than growing a few plants for personal use. You can bet your ass if / when I go commercial I will no longer be reading on the net about the topic, or posting on forums. You also need a house or shop preferably a farm house or shop on the outskirts of town or away from it.

Long story short apartments are bad grow spots, any house is better.

Pertaining to the Omega Gardens: I do not understand how they work at all. I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable about growing, so when I come across something like this I'm immediately put off. However, enough people have mentioned this system that I'm gonna find some time to check it out.

About the security issues, I'm with you on the house thing. The apartment is only a something to hold us off until we find a house. 72 hour notices, hidden and put away from everything, grow op is contained in one room that will be extremely secure (locked up). But again, thanks for the concern, and I wanna let everyone know that I'm aware of the risks and am taking them seriously.

Now, I do have a question about something you, and many others have brought up. Is posting on these forums really a bad idea? Are there really police out there reading these forums, and then hacking into usernames/computers to find out information such as your name, location, etc...??? This seems extremely unlikely to me. Or are you just worried about having all this information on your computer if it gets confiscated in some type of investigation? If anybody has any information or opinions on this I'd appreciate it.

Exactly how difficult and how much time and work does it take to flush, adjust ph, add nutes, or just maintain while growing 6 full sized plants let alone multiple sites? Is it something you can do by yourself? These are questions you need to ask yourself as a grower. The problem I have found with this style of aero or even hydro with the res on the bottom, just makes all this difficult to do by yourself unless you come up with a way.
I know this guy has friends involved, and you would think he will never have to do it all alone but, friends are friends and they do get lazy.
When i first started it was with 2 other people, I cant tell you how many times I had to save those crops, just from plain stupidity on their part or neglect. Now that its just me, I look for systems that are easily maintained by one person. I don't know about you, but I am a work smarter not harder type of guy.
I think this post will bring out some good hypothetical setups we all wish we could use. Very good post for a stranger to pop his cherry with, even though there was an offer for money I think it will become irrelevant as this thread gets larger. GL

Another great point made by Thunderlips. While I'm not going to go into the details of where I envision this operation going, eventually, it will need to be more of a one person job.

However, on a smaller scale, like maybe one tent and 1k - 1.5k this is a great idea and the rainforest thing in general is really interesting.

You'd mix everything in a large drum or such, and pour it into the individual reservoirs.

And yeah, I've had experience with shitty grow partners. It sucks.
