The religion of peace

Looks like there is an opening for a cartoonist Buck.
We all know how much you like to draw.
sadly, France is currently undergoing a nationalist pushback.
bucky would be unwelcome.

but on the other hand he could scream and cry and declare everyone in France to be Racist, for wanting to preserve french culture.

besides France already has Theirry Henri, which fulfills their current requirements for assholes

So... the 17yr old (18?) turned himself in, like a hypocritical scared Muslim should.
The hunt is on for the other 2. Seven others arrested.

Meanwhile, someone else opened fire on some French cops, killing one (totally unrelated, I'm sure).
And a bomb has gone off near a mosque (also totally unrelated).

...and so it begins.

That's a bit different. The woman may have had no choice.

You can't poke the bear and be surprised when it mauls your ass.
Are you implying they deserved to be killed over cartoons? Are you saying the press shouldn't expect some protection from fucked up elements in society because "poking bears"?

I guess by extension the privileges extended to religions should be repealed, too? It's no surprise if a Mosque is blown to hell with people inside, bending over because "poking bears".

Your analogy has failed...SURPRISE!

His point, my point is that today, in this climate of Muslim extremism, you are asking for trouble by making cartoons mocking Mohammed. They were playing with fire, they knew it (Police bodyguards), essentially they were asking for an extreme response, and they got it. No surprise there

You are inadvertently kowtowing to their desires with your fear. As that cartoon I posted of Jesus and Mohammed with pencils up their asses stated, "you'll get used to it".
If they want to engage in a cartoon war, then FANTASTIC!
That is how we should be communicating our fears and concerns. That is the expected reaction. You are automatically assuming that making cartoons equals death.
FFS this idea goes back to the days of Martin Luther, at least. Satire is a path to enlightenment.

Don't be so scared...we, as a society, must stand up to these people to let them know their backward ideology is not compatible with western ideals and must be changed if they wish to remain functional within it.
Otherwise it is their doom which is certain, not ours.
Allah won't punish them for being "modern"...Allah won't even punish them for eating bacon.

I think it's just awful. I think this and the garbage that was pulled at Sony is how it's going to go. New phase of terrorism.
I like your belly, so don't take this the wrong way.

This kind moral equivalence is what got us here. A cyber hack, with no one to believe but Seth Grogen and Obama is not the same at ALL, from 11 journalists murdered in their offices.

We have been fighting Sunni jihad for over 200 years, since the Barbary Coast Wars. And the world has been fighting it since 640 AD. This is not a religion? Oh but it is. It is exactly the same as the Crusades. All Christians supported that, or else, excommunicated.

It is the same for all Muslims today. Those that spoke against this ACT have automatic Fatwah against them.

So, to me this is not a new phase at all. Same old shit, different generation. These Jihadists know our weak points and moral equivalence is one of them.

My fear? I would simply carry a handgun which I usually don't, and say come and get me you mutha fucking crazy Muslim cocksuckers( if I was a religious satirist). We won't have a problem here the US, because we are all armed and dangerous(at least I am), and have the NRA on our side. As a matter of fact, the NRA monthly publications should show solidarity with France, and print a picture of Mohammed getting a BJ from Sarah Palin. That would be nice.

And the Jews. You are still afraid of Jews, right?

This means you want appeasement? What about the Jews? More appeasement?

@Doer Not taken wrong at all, I should clairy what I meant a bit:

I meant new as it terrorists attacking on smaller scale (one or two self described jihadists picking off an office bldg. in Paris, in Austrailia, a mall in Kenya, courthouse in Canada) vs. huge scale 911 style or crashing plane attacks which require more orchestration and more people involved in planning and carrying out. In the Sony case, no loss of life but major security breach and messing up an entire corporation.

And if my post came off as insensitive (for appearing to compare Sony's or Rogan's lost revenue to Paris' loss of life) I'm sorry about that. It wasn't the comparison I was intending to make.

It is exactly the same as the Crusades. All Christians supported that, or else, excommunicated. .
Yes, all Catholic Christians, but after that excommunication came reformation (Protestants) and then a split within Christianity. So I am not sure that ALL muslims are against non-muslims.

Hooka, have you asked? I mean really probed? I have. I am in position to hire and travel, meet people and if they are muslim I ask. "Will you accept any other Religion to exist along side Islam, or is it a constant struggle until there is no God but Allah?" This is where you must probe. They will tap dance this one. And only 1 in 5 will even try to answer.
But, the answer, if I get one will boil down to, "But, if Allah Wills it <shrug>?"

This is not a religion of Free Will. It is all the Fate of Allah.

The Protestants are very confused, also. If you don't believe the Bible? If you don't "accept Christ?"

And I don't accept, touchy feely. So, no I was not upset or thought anything other than what I said. You read in the emotion. I save the emotion for face to face.
