Hey all, I've been reading all I can for a few months now and I'm very interested in growing.
I have experience as far as permaculture/gardening/farming staples in no-till systems, however indoor cultivation of medical cannabis really appeals to me. I came across a 9x9 tent with 24 Site Bubble Flow Buckets. Upgrades include Co2, Kind XL1000 LED's, and stealth RO filter. The sales rep stated I could expect 4-8lbs of dried plant matter, which should = a quick ROI on the $9600 investment (and hopefully great quality medicine for my patients and I). It will draw about 27-30amps.

Thinking of a perpetual harvest I am also considering two 5x5 tents- one just for drying (fan/filter) and one for cloning/vegging (this one will have t5 lights).

Only issue is, I can't really find reviews on this particular system. I was planning on doing this in my condo which has enough room, is well insulated and stays around a steady 70 degrees even in our crazy winters. I'd appreciate any thoughts/concerns, I'd like to get this ordered soon and start a grow journal. Do these yields sound about right? There are other accessories like the ppm pen, glasses, botanicare nutes, neem oil etc, bringing my total to around $11k (and anticipated break even at $1200/donated poundx4lbs at 3 harvests. I know for a newbie this might be a lot but I've been saving with this on my mind for a while now and I don't want to crawl before I can walk, I like a challenge

Thanks Timmybro, but I'm really on the fence because it seems there might be room for savings if I source individual parts, however I'm not finding deals for example on the LED lights. If a 4lb yield is achievable, I'd say it's worth it. Looks in theory to be true, but I'm just not sure

Anything is possible my freind you just need to research thats my advice man people will tell you that hps will get higher yeilds... i think they do there much better in my opinion... but the guys that know there stuff will get to this thread soon and help u oit there is a good load of info on here and very intelligent people besides that look up everything you need to know and want to know

The flowering is in the 9x9 tent with the LEDs and 24 bubble buckets. It's a supercloset package/setup. lOL hey Terry so are you saying that sounds too good to be true, even with those giant LEDs, Co2 and bubble buckets?

i had a goal first plant i grew was DWC in a 5 gal bucket
1 plant 1 600 watt bulb 1 pound setup cost was $1200 got 10.5 oz paid for it's self
took 8 months set backs with root rot
now have 6 plants in soil in the 5x5 tent it's full
24 in a 9x9 will be tight

4-8 lbs if you are a grow god. Expect much less if its your first time. LEDs will never get you there. I know someone whose name id rather not drop that got a marketing deal thru an led supplier. All of his grows were using HID. he would simply use LED while flushing for the last week or 2 and show you those pics. Also the pics he would show of the plants during flowering with the led setup was simply him taking down the hid right after lights out, replace the leds and then take his pics. Not saying LEDS wont produce, they simply wont produce no where near as HID. The only time I seen an led grow actually produce was inside of a 10x12 grow room that was actually running over 5k watts of actual led lights. there were 12 helios each with 12 modules each running over 400 actual drawing watts. Also there was quite a bit of heat and a big mini split was needed to cool the room down. Be careful with hydro shop suggestions. They are there to sell more than help

Math seems legit. And 3 oz is fairly easy. especially if 2-3k watts.

Not saying LEDS wont produce, they simply wont produce no where near as HID.

side by side, ($2000) 600w led got .96 gpw, 1000w hps got i want to say .667 gpw. All in all, about 30 grams, 400w, and $1,500 (well really just longer roi, less profit margin) were the differences. Oh and I believe the led tested better slightly better thc,cannabinoid, and terp wise.

so many variables as far as what you get or don't get for a end result, as far as yield, my best advice is to figure out your yield after it is harvested, dried, and cured. just saying never count your chickens till they have hatched.

If you want a quicker return on investment, spend your money wisely. Buying any premade DWC system is not a wise money expenditure (unless you are totally mechanically inept.) The LEDs are also not a wise money expenditure. Your hydro system can be made very easily for a very small investment, and as a bonus, you will know how it works. The LED system can be matched in performance by a much cheaper HPS/MH/CMH system or you can do a DIY LED setup for a much nicer price.

Don't be a silly bastard who thinks "you get what you pay for" that is total BS.

get 600w mh/hps. successfully veg for 2-3 months in dwc, training regularly (possibly vscrog). Successfully flower and yield a 1lb+ plant or 2. Then consider 24.
