So I'm planning on doing a 4x4 tent and 1200 watts vert for hopefully 4 trees in dwc. My question is 1200 watts too much for 4x4. Before anyone says use the search I have and I see people saying yes and other people calling bullshit so I'm just looking fo r a conclusive answer. Is it logical to run 1200 watts in a 4x4

Its a bro science here man. From what I know, thats 175000 lumen, in a 16 sq ft area, so your at roughly 11000 psf.

I wouldnt do it without co2! Its $15 a month to rent a 50lb tank and you just need a timer and solenoid regulator! Under a $100. 10-30% higher yeilds!

I imagine you got two 600s. Better off to split them up, have two rooms 4x4. Youll get more bang for your buck! But thats just my opinion.

Are you restricted to a 4x4 area?

Heat would be a massive issue
It's snowing where I'm at and i plan on pulling air from straight outside into my basement. I ran this set up in a 6x4 but it was a home made tent and I've since moved and I had to trash it.

VERT is the key word. SQFT goes out the window. You can't do this with just overhead lighting. Yes you can pull off 1200w in a 4x4 tent without the need for CO2, but you will need to do it with side lighting and lighting from the middle. Adding more to the top pushes the levels too high in your canopy bringing the need for CO2. If you had 1 overhead 600w light and lined the walls with T5HO/LEDs and add in floating CFLs or LEDs in the middle you can use that 1200w to create ideal 3D lighting and have nice buds sticking out the plants in all directions.

I've had great results running 1000w in a 1.2x1.2m x2m tent, single hps, personally I wouldn't go any higher in that space and I also wonder how you will run 2 vertical bulbs in that space. Pics would be nice when your up and running

I run 2x600 hps in a 4x4,
not vert, I would not suggest going bare bulb though

with good ventilation s/b no problem
