I was looking into pet travel laws earlier and was so annoyed to discover that my FIV cat is allowed into the UK, with of course the obvious threat of infecting other cats. Yet my dog is perhaps not allowed into the UK.

If I skirt the law and tweak his passport to say he's an American Staffordshire Terrier and not a Pit Bull then it's possible. Need to speak to my vet.

I looked into this a bit further and confirmed that a pit bull is a cross of an American staff and an English bulldog (both allowed in).

Why is everything about loopholes and grey areas? We have some serious dogs out here so I understand Fila Brasiliera, Dogos and Tosas being banned as they are huge but the terrier laws need more clarity.

Hey one thing that works in America is service dogs, no matter the breed or whatever nobody can say shit to you. no license or registration required, all you got to do is get a vest and fake ID from amazon it will set you back less then a hundred bucks...In America with a service dog can get on a airplane and ride with you and go into stores and restaurants and nobody is allowed to ask you what your conditions are to have a service dog. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_box_?k=service dog ID

Sounds like a good idea but then I also read about 'Lennox' yesterday. A 5 yr old pitbull who was taken from a disabled girl and destroyed. But not before caging him for 2 yrs whilst they fought in court to no avail. That was in Ireland though. Made me sick to read it.

That is really shitty I will have to read about it... It is pretty common for police to shoot your dog (mainly pit-bulls) here in America. But if you even dare kick a K9 you're either getting shot or charged with assault on a officer...absolute bullshit

It's just awful. No dog should be shot down.

Lennox didn't attack anyone. He was a girls dog who was in a wheelchair. The poor dog lost his hair before they killed him.

I don't know what state you're in, but in my state service dogs must have paperwork, they've already spotted the bogus Amazon reg. card/papers. It's getting out of hand here with dogs everywhere, malls, stores, etc. The retailers and business owners are clamping down.

Nice looking dogs...

I trip on mine. She's so needy.... look how she sleeps on me. She always wants to get inbetween. She's a pretty good alert dog to. Small but has a deep low tone bark. And her teeth.... she chews through every damn toy we get and eats it. Not evenough when I had my Rottweiler did he chew thru toys.

OCD for damn sure this little one here.

I've traveled many times with a small cat or dog in the cabin...in a small kennel which fits under the seat in front of me. I hate when people give u the look while boarding. ..sorry my babies are very well behaved. ..unlike the dude next to me who keeps farting. ..and looking at my dog..and me. Lol right...
I recently read that air canada & westjet decided to ban pets during the holidays. .causing lots of problems for people who booked a seat with their pet and never received any updates. ..I'd be pissed!

Also the sweetheart jack russel ? In the picture b4 my post is freaking adorable !!

Is that a rat terrier? A good friend of mine has one of those, and though I'm not much of a dog person anymore i LOVE that freaking dog! She's awesome! NOt a yapper at all. Which is key for small dogs IMHO.

No actually she's a Jack/whippet . She's a cuddler for damn sure. She's not a yapper which I'm thankful of. She thinks she's a pit bull. Or a person sometimes. If she's not playing she's sleeping.

Can't seem to find one of her face on my phone here(depressed as all hell when i put that santa hat on hahah)My son wanted a "big" dog. Like the mastive/pit we used to babysit. But my yard gets way to muddy. I have lay concrete. I let my dogs in the house so mud is no bueno.

She's not mine but she is a super friendly Golden who had free reign of the "Stoney Creek" neighborhood when I used to live there. She was an outdoor dog with a serious bit of stank, but she was also energetic and sweet and I fed her the best dog treats ever so she kept coming by. Best treats ever? Meaty moose bones!

I live in Alaska and after I finished butchering my moose last fall, I made a batch of stock from the marrow bones and put it in the freezer. Mmmmm!

I threw the unused "knuckle bones" (giant heads of femurs, tibias, ulnas etc) in the freezer, and would break one out for the pup when she'd roll thru on her daily rounds. Some bones were so big she could barely get her mouth around em but as soon as she got one she'd bolt out like the Tasmanian Devil.

Here she is, eagerly waiting for some meat, right after I chopped 2 Jack the Rippers (yes EARLY, I was forced to move and tear down the grow prematurely dangit...)

We're not quite moose every day but almost... we're moose, salmon or halibut. Is the moose I always crave tho, and I'm just about to fire up the smoker for another round of jerky- 30# this time.bongsmilie
