Werm11's Garden-MarionBerry Kush, Gorilla Glue #4, Frisco Fever

Hey everyone. Been lurking here for a long time so now that I'm in a medical friendly state I figured it was time to throw up a little journal.

Strains-Current strains in flower are a Jedi Kush at 7 weeks flowering, a 4 week Jedi Kush, a 2 week MarionBerry Kush, and a 1 week MarionBerry. Each marionberry was popped from seed. The older marionberry (mb1) turned out to stretch pretty hardcore once it hit the flowering cab. It tripled in height. Wasn't expecting that. The younger marionberry (mb2) vegged slower and looks like it'll have a much lighter stretch. I'll be picking my favorite of these two and keeping one for a mother. Will be tying down this strain next time. The two Jedis are being phased out of the garden. They're too incredibly stretchy and lanky. They have a nice smell and potency tho.

Current strains in veg are two young clones from each of the marionberrys, a recently acquired clone of gorilla glue #4, and three small plants of a new strain called Frisco Fever. The Frisco Fever is from NorStar Genetics. I popped three seeds. Will also be picking my favorite of these and dumping the other two. It was actually won from an Instagram contest lol. I know kinda funny. He had five different strains he was giving out as testers. I happened to get the Frisco fever which is a cross between Oaxacan Gold and Frisco OG. Looks like it's gonna be a heavy sativa. You can read about these two strains here...

Lights-
Two Area 51 RW-75s with some cfls for supplemental on the side for flower. The cfls will hopefully soon be replaced by cree LEDs or another rw-75. For veg I'm using a 96x3w TopLed reflector series with only the veg switch turned on. This light is not powerful enough to flower a plant but it has given me great results in the veg cab.

Nutrients-
Right now I'm switching between the General Organics line and the BioBizz line. I'm trying to decide which I like more. I have two Jedi kush going. One is getting GO the other is getting BioBizz.

I have space for four small flowering plants. The flowering closet is about 4x2x5. I only use about 3x2 of it for the plants. Some space is needed in the back for a fan and filter. My little veg cabinet is about 3x2x2.5. It is too small and is my next replacement project.

So the original plan was to space out the age of my plants so that I was harvesting one plant every two weeks or so. That hasn't quite been set in place yet though due to acquiring new genetics and ditching one. I'll make another post shortly with pictures.

Feel free to leave comments, suggestions, questions.

So a lot has happened in the garden since my first post. The biggest difference is that I got rid of that ridiculously small veg cabinet. I gutted the closet next to the one I was currently using and turned it into another grow spot. The two closets are connected in the back. I have them separated and light tight. They're being ventilated together using the same fan/filter.

I also harvested the older jedi kush. I got an ounce and a half. It's the amount I expected to get after seeing the ridic stretch and the way the buds grew out. The height that my plants have recently gotten is really going to cause me to lose out on weight I feel like. It's my fault because I stopped tying them down. When my plants are all at a certain height I can get full coverage on all four of them without the cfls for side lighting. You will see now in the pictures that I've already started tying down some of my plants in veg.

Here are a couple bud shots of the jedi

Here's a shot of the two closets. Veg closet on the left. Flower on the right.

Veg cab...back right and front left: MB1. Middle left and middle front row are MB2. Very middle is the gorilla glue and the three Frisco fever are front right middle back and back left. Sorry they're in no order. I just put them where it fits

And some random shots of the flower cab. The last jedi is in the back at 5 weeks flower. The marionberry on the right is three weeks into flower and is one week older than the other MarionBerry on the left

I bent down the tops of the taller marionberry (mb1) last night trying to get more coverage from the lights. The canopy is somewhat more even now. Still too tall but not much more I can do about it.
Has anyone had any experience growing these strains who can tell me a little bit about what to expect? Especially the genetics in frisco fever. If anyone has grown the Frisco OG or the Oaxacan gold what did you notice? Anyone grown marionberry? I have a lot of info on the gorilla glue as it's mega popular in my area
I'm headed out of town tomorrow for five days so when I get back we should have some nice new bud shots of the Marionberrys

i have 2 marrionberries from seed in veg. Going into flower tomorrow. They're both very indica in structure. No where as much stretching as yours. I also oaxaca x querkle seeds. I haven't popped them. Too many other strains in line first.

What's up Hyroot. I've been following your garden for a while now and enjoy reading it. Both of those marionberrys were very short and stout when I had them vegging. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of them anymore. The older one (mb1) actually had a structure during veg that I really really liked. Very thick, strong branching. Fast veg but tight spacing. It shot off like crazy soon as I flowered it. The other one (mb2) I left in veg for about a week longer because it vegged slower and stayed shorter. I actually only topped it once and topped the other one twice. The stretch will definitely be a factor when choosing which one stays in the garden. I'm really hoping for a nice colorful pheno from one of these. Mb1 already has a nice sweet smell to it.

What up kids. It's been almost two weeks since my last post. The marionberrys are really comin along. Buds aren't as big as I thought they'd be at this point but I'm pretty sure I think that about every plant I grow haha. The last jedi is about 7 days from chop. Shortly after the jedi leaves the room I'll be replacing it with another marionberry and the first frisco fever from seed. The first two marionberrys will be done around the end of the month and will immediately be replaced with whatever else has grown the biggest in veg. It's looking like it'll be a gorilla glue and another frisco pheno. We will see though. I've up potted everything except three of the marionberry clones which will be staying in their pots for a few more weeks at least.

I'm really looking forward to the next four plants as they will all be properly tied down to get much better coverage from my lights. I get so annoyed when I look in the flower closet and see the mess in there. I'll be expecting better yields in my next few rounds.

Now for some pictures....
Here's the younger Marion at ~4weeks. This pheno has an awesome unique smell of fruity black licorice. image.jpg

The older marion at ~5 weeks. This pheno is getting some nice purple coloring in the fan leaves with a fruity berry smell to it. image.jpg

Then the veg room. Fun stuff comin from here soon.

Started getting the classic leaf twist on the gorilla glue. Definitely nice to see this. I knew it was a reliable source but nice to see confirmation

I love packed veg tent

Thanks city. I'm actually very much enjoying the veg room myself. I really can't wait to have my keepers chosen so I can get everything on a steady cycle. Right now I'm just wanting to run them all through so I can choose what to keep around.

Hey guys wondering if anyone can tell me what's going on. It's day 43 of 12/12 for this older marion. It's the same colorful one in the photos above. I've noticed a lot of fading already. More than what I'm used to for week 6. It was also watered only two days before the picture with plenty of moist soil and the yellow leaves look droopy. Does that much fading this early look normal? It started its fade almost a whole week ago. Also in random spots all over the plant there are leaves with crispy tips and usually some discoloration. These are down low and up high on the plant. I found a bunch of them a few days ago and pulled them off. There aren't as many now but more were found today. It wouldn't bother me if this were a week or more from now but this is supposed to go 2 to 3 more weeks and the fading seems like a lot. Maybe it's not though. Any thoughts?

Cool man yea I'm excited for the gg. Bout to cut a few clones of her soon so I can start her in the rotation. I don't really think the issue with the marion is a major deal tho. Got another going into flower tonight

Yo so again a lot has happened since my last update. The last jedi was chopped and is drying right now. Everything in veg was up potted. I stuck another purple pheno marionberry and my third frisco fever pheno into flower for a few days and then I noticed some clear signs of male parts on my second and third frisco fever phenos. I also noticed clear signs of a female on my first frisco pheno. I disposed of ff2 and ff3 which sucks because I don't get to choose from more than one pheno but it frees up tons of space.

I love love love the smell of my second marionberry pheno. It smells like fresh peeled lime rinds spraying right into your face. Im really interested in seeing this one after being cut and dried but man the purple, berry pheno is just so so pretty looking. I Was originally looking for a colorful bag appeal type pheno when I chose this strain so I've sort of already chose the first purple pheno as my keeper. Unless the other plant really blows me away as far as yield or dried smell I just don't see myself keeping it.

So that leaves me with three keepers for my garden. The frisco is still a complete mystery so anything is replaceable. I took clones of all three strains I plan to keep. The purple, Berry scented marion, gorilla glue, and the mystery frisco fever. I put the gorilla glue in flower to replace the frisco male. I chose the GG because it was my biggest plant in veg.

So that leaves me with three marionberries and a gorilla glue in flower with a few marions and my only frisco vegging. Multiple clones of all three were recently cut. Right now my clone method is a joke and would love to see some recommendations on inexpensive cloners or cheap diy methods. Anyway here are some pictures...

The two older marions in flower come down in about two weeks. I think how I decided I want to eventually run the closets is to put four in flower at the same time, I'll have four ready to put under the cheaper lg panel when my flowering plants are around 6 weeks old. This will let the younger plants finish their stretch under the lg and be ready for the A51s for budding. It will also cut down my time in between harvests. Hopefully I'm pulling down four plants every 5-6 weeks. It'll take some time to get it down but I think it's possible with my space.

Quick update. Marions are at day 49 and 41. The trichs on the older one are pretty much all cloudy with a few stray clear. No Amber yet. I didn't check the trichs on the younger one. I made a cloner and moved half of my cuts into it. I didn't move all of them just in case this thing doesn't work. I've never used one of these let alone made one so just being safe. I had a hell of a time exchanging air pumps because they didn't give out the amount of bubbles I was shooting for. I settled on one that I will honestly probably upgrade the second I'm browsing somewhere and see a more powerful one.

You can see the marions back there gettin fat and I'm lovin the more even canopy in front with the newer girls. The closet will look a lot different with all shorter plants. That's the gorilla glue on the left and the mb on the right in front. They're only 2 and 4 days into 12/12 so I'm expecting them to shoot off soon. I don't have the bloom switch turned on over those two right now as I've heard the reds can induce stretching so I'm seeing if keeping only the veg switch on helps keep the stretch down on that marion. We already know what it does not tied down with the reds on.

Yea man they are and I hate it. I didn't expect that kind of stretch which is why I kept the next round so short. To answer your question though no I haven't seen any problems at all except that I'm losing coverage. No bleaching or anything
