400 ppm is less than I feed my babies. What are you feeding, what's yournph and what is your medium?
my ph is 5.8. PPM was at a 700 but it looked like signs of nute burn and I was having PH flux prob. about 2 and a half weeks ago so I flushed with PH balanced water and retested after the flush PH was at 7.5. added 28ML of cal-magic and PPM is now at 783 in DWC. using GH advanced performance.

Keep the water ph at 5.8 to 6.3 after adding everything. no higher no lower for dwc. when you set it at 5.8 does it keep climbing?

I remember something about chlorine and chloramine being two different things. maybe somebody could chime in and explain? .I take it you have city water.

Yes I use city tap water. It does keep climbing I have to add a some vinegar to lower the PH daily.(I figured adding vinegar to the res is safer than PH down.)

let it climb from 5.8 to 6.3 and change out the water. keep a look out for clear slime.temperature is a big factor I suggest you take it to th dwc section.

thanks for the advice bro. I have been doing just as you said I figured that if i let it float to around 6.2 I will get higher CAL intake. I will def. be going to the DWC sec. Thanks again.

one thing you want to look at on the vinegar is if it was made from petroleum? next time your at the store check them out.
